I'll be keeping my old C320. I don't like the headlights and the center stack looks cheap. I also don't like the pop-up screen.
It looks like the rear quarters are not as tucked in at the rear as the previous model, (a good thing from certain angles) but that is the only improvement I see.
Oh, and I'm combining this thread with the much larger and more complete one.

When the S-Class first came out every one complained the interior was a total crap blah blah blah , now I dont hear a word about the interior or the outer design. I have been seening pictures of this car for the last 3 days and have to say it is growing on me.
BTW it has some form of Ambiant lighting, look under the door handle. That is good enough for a car of this size. I love the new interior.

I think the car looks amazing! 
Have you ever seen one on the road? I have, and belive me the car looks really amazing...
at first i thougt it was the new Clk...
But i have to say, that the side mirrors are a little bit to big for the car...
And yes, every new car looks a little bit like another one...

Yes, couldn't agree with you more, Stuttgart -UT. I love the look of the new C except maybe for the side mirrors. The black bit in between actually makes it look smaller as long as the car is not black, otherwise it'll look like Dumbo
But overall, I'm impressed and judging by the press photos, interior quality should be right up there.

Horrible design, inside and out. Kind of reminds me of the previous generation Infinity in concept - "for older people". Frumpy and unoriginal. Very disappointing - there have been better looking variants floating around on the i-net. I am definitely out.

Thanks for the hi res pics. Still dislike the center console, too much blank space covered by that cheap looking plastic. I'm trying to envision which areas we could overlay with carbon fiber. That would help.

2008+ C-class 4matic? Will AWD be an option?
Just wanted to know if anyone has info on the 4matic AWD system becoming available on the 2008+ C-class.
I would really love a AWD C-class for the Northeast winters.
I REALLY want a C63 4matic with an automatic transmission.

Even the C350 is down on power compared to the AWD 07 G35 and the AWD 08 CTS which are both COMPLETELY redesigned.
If MB offers a C63 with AWD and an automatic trans,
I'll buy one.
If not,
I'll be buying the 300+hp 08 CTS that is completely redesigned and offers a direct injection motor.
It's a shame, because I REALLY want a C63 with AWD and automatic.

There's already been lots of discussion on MB being behind Infinity/Lexus/Cadillac etc in terms of audio/video/exterior styling etc etc. I think them not having a super fast AWD vehicle right out of the gates with the new model year is very typical. Their focus groups probably showed them that there is not much demand for an AWD option for the most sporty of the C-Classes. It may show up in a couple years but my bet would be that it's not going to be available the first model year of a new design.
