On the first set of pic i like the middle car. That sedan looks really nice. plus if you look hard you can tell that it has the same windows as the CLK. There is no bar in between. really cool

I really like the new benz... looks like a car with attidude. Get out of my way now and make way for me. haha Atleast it doesn't look like a sad panda bear like the current C Class does now.

"sad panda bear" I never thought of it that way.

I think my w203 has more "personality" and looks much more "muscular" than my old w202 though, but I never associated them with animals...

I love the curves of the w203, and if they can just keep adding to the agressiveness with the upcoming model, that would be awesome!

I cant wait till it comes out. Its going to be great!! I wonder what type of engine they will be using. I hope they get rid of that garbage 1.8L junk. Im sure they will do the 3.5 on the new C350.

Hmm... Wait till gas prices hit $4/gallon. Then you will be begging for that 1.8L engine MB will certainly keep low-displacement engines in their lineup, as in Europe not only fuel is expensive, but vehicles get taxed based on engine displacement.

Then again - even now, you are not forced to buy the 1.8L, are you? And what exactly makes it "garbage junk"? It is better in every respect than your 2.6L V6.

I agree, the 2.6L is got to be the worst Engine I have ever driven. Alot worse then the 1.8K. But when I was ready to purchase my car the 1.8K was not out yet. (09-02) I just can't beleive that MB downgraded from a 2.3K to a 1.8K. I really hope they do something about it with the W204. Thats it. Look at the compeition. 2.0T,(Sabb, Audi) 2.5T (Volvo)

2.6 is indeed horribly slow. 1.8 is almost as torqueless and uninspiring, but still decent. I liked the 2.3, Even though it sounded the worst and was unrefined, it had great power. I even now consider my 3.2 to be average. I need something with atleast 270 horses next time. the 350 should be wonderful, but its too late I need a V8.

Oil Change, not sure where you are, but Acura's are premium Hondas sold in North America and perhaps elsewhere. The Honda Integra is an Acura RSX in the US.

Yes, I see a little Bangle in this car. I like the coupe better than sedan. Hopefully the headlights will be different than the drawings.

the c204 coupe

I've got to say that I kind of like the coupe. I must say though that they seriously need to keep the round headlights. That in my mind is a Mercedes signature. Also, they need to work on the tail lights. Maybe they could soften them like they did with the 05 tail lights.

I just hope the redesigned headlights are not accurate and that this is photoshopped or an early test car.

I sincerely hope that those designs were photoshopped (which they are) and not the actual designs because quite frankly, they look hideous. The interior is bangled, the exterior is full of sharp lines, the car(s) has/have lost its/their elegance and the rear of the C coupe looks strange (the tailights need to go!). They will need a long time to get used to although I have faith that MB would never do anything too radical . They should continue with the current C design because it looks really nice!

agree 100%!!! I have a feeling, though, that these are pilot variants that have been let sip through to the [online] press to study the intial public reaction.

When a design looks good, as the current crop of MB vehicles demonstrate, evolution in design is preferable.

When a design looks bad, as the current crop of new BMW vehicles demonstrate, revolution in design is preferable.

I'm not sure I like the direction MB is taking with the spy shots and photochops of exterior and interior styling I've seen. Look kinda like an amalgam of BMW and Japanese styling in all the wrong places.

The CLK is already an overpriced C-Coupe.

Just change your sig to match mine now. MBUSA is bunch of ****ing old conservatives. Its AMAZING the Coupe ever got into the country with this lot in charge.

You think that re-design is bad go get the latest Car and Driver and see how they killed the G-Class..... I am so dissapointed in MB's choice of the way they want to go. Maybe they have not heard that no one likes the Bangle-ised BMW's!!!!!!
Couldn't agree more!!! The old G-Class is supposedly selling like hotcakes, most because of its absurd appearance. I like it myself, but the new one is ****! I really hope this pictures a joke, or some sort of MB testing the waters. Nasty.... Really Really Really sad when a storied company like MB COPIES a turd pile brand like Acura.

Look at the center instrument/aircon/whatever-you-call-that-bit and you'll see how "contourless" it is compared to the recent beautiful designs like the CLS and the SLK. I'm not a big fan of straight lines and would prefer some sort of curvy alternative to the ones pictured. Another example is the door design. It's now all straight (I do like the speaker arrangement though!!!) and Wouldn't it seem strange for MB to suddenly change their direction: from curves to straight lines? Maybe they think it's time for the brand to move on (exactly what CBangle thought of BMW) I don't know, but whatever happens we will only have to make do with it and like I said before, MB would never do something stupid. Only time can tell. Actually, I've gotten a bit more used to the interior design and it's not THAT bad , but I still think the exterior is far from "seductive".

Thanks much. It all makes sence now. Mecedes is changing the look of the cars not for the better and we all think, they are foolish for doin this. The curvy lines we have come to expect are being tossed by the way side for sharper angles like those on the Z4 roadster. personally I am not impressed with the new look. I know I posted earlier in this thread that I liked it, but that was before I had a chance to look it over and let it sink in.

Does anyone have any information as to whether these pictures are just being floated to get initial reaction? If those pictures are just early ideas, we need to write MB and let them know that we, an MB owning group, do not like the new proposed design.
