Your datacard does NOT show that you have the updated transmission that uses the BLUE fluid. You want code A89 - Reduced Friction to use the blue fluid. If still in doubt, get both ATF 134 (red) and ATF 134FE (blue). The Mercedes specification is 236.14 (red) and 236.15 (blue). Whatever comes out, that's what you put in. The two fluids are NOT compatible.

Wrong answer unless he has the reduced friction built transmission. Please be careful making recommendations without verifying the type of transmission.

ok I can't remember what came out as it was along time ago, we had to change the transmission, i had it vin matched but when we put the cirrect red in it would make a sound as if it wasnt engaging, however when the fluid was cold it worked flawlessly

According to your vin you need the red ATF134 fluid.

Yours is a little earlier build model than mine and I use the red fluid. Can also check by looking at the transmission pan, though this can be misleading if a previous owner did the "transmission pan upgrade" which basically just installs the later version pan and filter.

Here is a good article explaining transmission fluid type by FCP: https://www.fcpeuro.com/blog/how-to-...smission-fluid Which I just noticed someone already posted.

I picked up Shell ATF 134 for a very good price on Amazon.

If you didnt already know you have the 204.085, that number comes in handy when looking up parts diagrams for your specific vehicle.

Pull the trans drain plug for just a second. Not much fluid will come out and you will know what color the current fluid. Might help some in figuring it out.

I must have missed where you mentioned the tranny has been replaced. VIN matching only allows the car to run. Contact a Mercedes dealer if that’s who coded your car. The history will be in the car’s online records.

we kept the same tcm for the transmission as that ended up being the issue, we had the speed sensor fixed, the transmissions where matching numbers

Then you should have red fluid.
