1st, do a transmission service -- fluid and filter change. Then come back with the results. Clearly, being low on fluid is NOT acceptable. How do you know you are low on fluid?

essential service...
-- You know tranny do not consume any oil, unlike engines. ATF being low translates as LEAK!
-- So you'll want to identify the leak source before regular ATF service at a MB specialist who has specific ATF (NOT a universal generic ATF).
-- 4Matic requires additional service to help prevent bearing issues.
