Anybody familiar with this C300 on craigslist ??
Wondered if someone here knows about this 2012 C300 4Matic. Seller says he bought it in 2018 while in Maryland. Looks like carbon fiber replacement trim, not stick ons ?? Debadged, coil overs, ....

Looks pretty nice in the pics. A lot of aftermarket add-ons, but that's ok. Still, I'd get a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) done. There are companies like www.lemonsquad.com that will travel to the cars location to do the inspection. I've not used LemonSquad, but just mention them as an example. I would definitely get the PPI done when buying from an individual -- there have been too many horror stories on this forum about people eager to get a Mercedes and immediately end up putting more into the car than they bought it for.

Also, run the VIN through www.lastvin.com to see how the car was configured from the factory. It could be a 5-speed or 7-speed transmission (I think 2012 was the year Mercedes switched), but the datacard (VIN report) will tell you for sure. You absolutely want to ensure a tranny service has been performed with 79k miles on the car.

Sound advice..thx. Would need maintenance info..ESL replaced, Trans service, no rear subframe rot, et.al. ?
Noticed both plastic covers missing over headlights.
One person's rear debadging is another's rear collision repair !!

Any accident history should be in a carfax report if there was an insurance claim. Since it appears that the exhaust is aftermarket, or at least the AMG style quad tips are, I suspect the de-badging was not the result of an accident.
Those headlights are the newer version and look just like mine -- no eyelids.
The local MB dealer should be able to tell you if the ESL was replaced if you provide the VIN. The rear subframe warranty is transferable.

Check Title Continuity

Be sure to check the continuity of the title, mileage, and safety inspections. Any gaps could spell trouble. You don’t want to lay out money then have the state DMV refuse to register it because they can’t verify its title history.
You’re going to use CarFax. The state is going to use LexisNexus.
There are too many ways to “whitewash” a title to go into here. But a car that has changed state multiple times is susceptible.
