Wheel bearings make noise and CV axel leaking grease

I need help passing inspections , I don’t know what I’m looking for and where to go. I only need the wheel bearings cause they started to make a noise , and I wasn’t even aware my CV axel was leaking grease . This is all new to me . I really need help. If I fix these things I can pass inspections !! So please I’m putting my trust in this. It’s my only hope rn

This is the results I got from my failed inspections test

Photo of my results from my failed inspections test .

What do you need help with, are you going to do the work yourself?

At least both repairs go hand in hand, have to remove the cv axles to get at the wheel bearings.

The wheel bearings need a press to remove and install.

Which cv axle boots, there is an inner and outer boot on each one. I have to replace an outer boot, cost $16 for a new boot-clamps-snap ring at the Mercedes dealer.

this is really helpful thank you. I was thinking of doing the work myself but I work a lot so I don’t know when I’ll get to it. Where can I buy the parts? Mercedes dealer? Or website? Which ones can I trust?

FCP https://www.fcpeuro.com/Mercedes~Ben...&b=5&d=1043&v= is good.

Sometimes FCP doesnt have the part I want or my local MB parts dept is cheaper.

so I have a mechanic that’s willing to do it , if I just get the parts . I’ve been looking for parts now. Just front two wheel bearings and CV axels. So I was wondering if these parts I just found is everything I need to give him to get it replaced

Without know your vin i cant check for the specific parts.

That bearing kit you posted looks like its for a RWD model. The front wheel bearings for a 4matic are sealed, like the one below listed for my 2010 4matic:

You have the same one as mine 204.081. That number is good to know when looking up parts diagrams.

Some other good things to know is you have the 486 Sports Suspension, and A89 latest transmission when choosing transmission fluid and filter.

thank you ! Also since this is my first MB . What does “Service A “ and “service b “ require ? I was doing research and it’s kinda all over the place . But the same concept . I just want to know the right order to do it.

You should have an Operators manual in the glove box, along with it should be a Maintenance manual. It lists all the things that should be done by age/mileage. Just go thru it and make sure everything has been done.

Service A (every 10,000 miles) is basically an oil change and then visually inspecting fluids.

Service B (every 20,000 miles) is an oil change, replace brake fluid, replace cabin filter and then visually inspect fluids.

Replace air filter every 4yrs/40,000 miles.

I think for your transmission its every 4/yrs/40,000 miles for trans fluid and filter. I could be wrong.

Just look in the manual and make sure everything is up to date. Yours is 13yrs, or go with the mileage if its over 130,000 miles.

The car will also tell you which services it wants done. I'll use mine as an example. On the dash it was showing "Service BH Due". Go into ASSYST PLUS menu and it will list all the services. It listed Service 2, 3, 11 and 13. Looking on the chart that is Service B, oil and filter, fuel filter and coolant flush. These services made sense because my car had turned 150,000 miles and these services were listed in the Maintenance manual.

After you do the recommended work you will go into the ASSYST PLUS menu and reset the service reminder.

so I bought these wheel hub and bearings and apparently it didn’t fit. My mechanic said it’s better if I buy a new spindle . He said I bought the wrong part .

The instructions I have say to replace the hubs, though I have seen people re-use the hubs. Either way. Not sure they come with the bearing already on.

Those are the splines, the end of the cv axle has them also, they lock the hub and axle together.

I looked up that hub you bought and appears it's for a 2012-2015 C250 rear wheel drive. Like your mechanic said it won't fit with your 4matic.

oh ok , yea I figured I bought the wrong ones when I took the tire off and I checked the wheel hub . But my mechanic said he can do the bearings but it’ll be good if I do the hub as well . Just wanna know what kind of size bearing do I need? How can I find out? Also if I don’t change the hub is it bad? Can it cause damage to my car over time?

I posted all the part 3's above in Post #9 in the diagrams.

- Bearing 2219810406

- Hub 2213370245

I would re-use the hub, unless it is obviously damaged somehow. When you press out the old hub from the wheel carrier the old bearing will get destroyed, part of the bearing will remain on the hub. To re-use the hub you will have to pull off that part of the bearing. If you cannot remove the bearing from the hub then sure just replace the hub.
