Blower Motor issues 2015 C300
VIN: https://www.lastvin.com/vin/pY4grAgGNbyADjyRJ
Very cold day here today in UK and went to start my car and blower motor wasn't running. Left engine on for 5 minutes and it kicked in for around 30s before stopping again. Did this one more time before stopped working altogether.
I took the cover off passenger side footwell and found the blower motor, see photo. However I couldn't for the life of me get it out. Unfortunately I snapped off the plastic tab whilst trying to get it out, even then it won't rotate either clockwise/anti-clockwise.
Strangely with the engine off when I was in the footwell I could hear the blower running at very slow speed.
A few questions:
How do I get the dam thing out!
I ordered a 2nd hand blower motor off eBay - link
Am I right in thinking the resistor is built into the assembly?
Photo of blower motor (before I snapped the tabs)
Thanks in advance for any help.
James

You should post in the W205 forum because that's what your car is. It's not a W204 as we all have in this forum thread.
So I did a little looking and here is the wiring for the blower I believe. I know it's the wrong engine but it should be similar. The wire that comes off your blower plugs into the blower control module/resistor for the control of the motor speeds. I took a screen shot of the blower wiring diagram
and I will post the link to the page that I found it on. It has a explanation of how it works I believe but you have to register to the site but I think it's free. Good luck

Have you checked the fuse?
Have you checked the harness for voltage and ground? Use the diagram above if it is the right one.
I tested across points 1 and 3 on the connector and there was 12V. I also tested between 3 and 4 and there appeared to be 9V.
Does this suggest that there is power to the motor? Any ideas what next port of call is here? Typical this happens when it's -5 degC outside.

I have a wiring diagram that matches up with the diagram shown above. Pin 1 is Ground, Pin 3 is +12v, Pin 4 goes to the climate control unit, and Pin 2 is dead. Try to test and see if this is how yours works. Connect the multimeter to a good ground on the car, you should see 12v at Pin 3, test Pin 1 for continuity with ground, then Pin 4 voltage should vary when you switch the fan speed setting on the climate control unit.
I also have a diagram that shows all pins used.

About half an hour in blower comes on for around 30s, then goes off. Half an hour later it comes on and stays on for the remainder of the journey.
Could this be a loose wiring connector? Also, might be a coincidence but I drove through some pretty deep flood water around a week ago. Maybe moisture somewhere had caused an issue?
I am booked to take it to mercedes on Thursday but have another 2 hour journey on Wednesday so will see what happens on that before I take it in. Very strange!
