Good morning, Have an A/C issue and searched past posts to find out we can install a diode in line and grounded with the power line to the to the compressor pressure valve at the back of the compressor.
I'm looking for the wiring diagram for the AC, there is confusion of colors as I see colors for other models and not mine... so I would love some help on this.
I will take pics and show the results when done so it may help others. I have ordered the diodes just need to know the wire color. Apparently, the harness runs past the Power steering reservoir but not sure the color to break into.
vehicle is a 2008 C300 4matic.
Ok, update :- Got the Diode as directed. $2.79 > used the wire diagram and found the BU/Gn wire in the harness > soldered diode inline and grounded the other side >
started up > pressed the AC button and still flashing.
The compressor is OK, most of the time the AC button flashes then goes off. then I'll press it and the AC light stays on ( RED) but look warm air comes out - then the engine tone changes and the compressor kicks in and the cold air blasts... and it is freezing.
did I do the repair correct ?

What is the issue with the ac? i never heard of installing a diode in the ac system so i searched " Mercedes install diode on ac compressor" and the results im seeing are what people did when they installed an aftermarket ac compressor, something about aftermarkets not having a diode already installed unlike the OE Mercedes compressor.
I know next to nothing about electronics besides very basic things. From my understanding a diode is like a check valve, only allows current one way. I dont see how splicing in a diode and grounding it will prevent voltage from going back thru the original wire? just looking at that wire id say something isnt right.
