Exclamation Connector won’t click into new headlight

hi,

i purchased new spec D headlight for my 2010 Mercedes C300 (W204), but I can’t get the connector to click into the headlight. I’ve attached a video and photos below. I’m not sure what I’m missing, and any guidance would be appreciated.
the plugs are the same size. The new headlight has only 6 male pins but i don't see how that can be an issue.

The black male piece has a plastic bar that would interfere with pushing it down on the other piece. Looks like a completely different connector is needed. Get the manufacturer's part number to find the correct connector. Can you solder? You also need to figure out where each wire should go. I would be tempted to 're-engineer' the black piece by cutting away the bar. But that could totally screw things up and put you in a worse place. The joys of modern electronics!

I got it work and install. I don't know what was the issue but i'm now having issues where it looks like one of the headlights is much lower than the other. What could be causing this? I put everything but in it's spot.
the left hand side is much lower than right hand side for some reason

You have to adjust the lens with a screwdriver, there are adjustment screws for vertical and horizontal

oh are the adjustments same place as the factory ones? I can't find a manual or anything that would show how to do it.

Depending on what option code the car came with there are adjustment screws on the top somewhere.

As an example:

On a left hand drive Mercedes (i.e. for countries that drive on the right hand side of the road), the right headlight pattern reaches further ahead of the car than the left. If you drive on the right this pattern may be okay.

Both headlights need to be even. The stepped pattern in each headlight is what throws the light further down the road on the right side than the left.

When I replaced my halogen bulbs with an HID kit I had to adjust the headlights a little. I drove up to a wall and placed tape at certain measurements and aimed each light accordingly. i forget what I used for measurements. Basically the same thing they do when i take my car to get inspected yearly, they have a big panel with a grid on it.

Heres some useless info on adjusting the beam pattern depending on which side of the road you drive on:

Should be instructions on adjusting them. Not sure which specific ones you have:

Got it. I see where the error is on these now. Pattern & adjustments are quite a bit different than on the FL C250 halogens we had on our previous C Class cars. Apologies for throwing a curve.
