Just replaced the front SAM module in a 2009 C300. The part that was in there was an A 204 545 5501 and I replaced it with the later version A 204 900 9601. I knew that it wasn't just going to be plug and play so here I am, trying to figure out my next step should be based on some solid suggestions that can hopefully be thrown my way, Pease and Thank you.
What is the car doing with that replacement sam installed?
Does the car start, run, warnings popping up on the dash, fault codes showing when scanned with OBD scanner?
I think if you got a sam with the same part # and then looked up each cars vin #'s to make sure they have the same options you have a better chance of it being plug and play.
I just replaced the Front SAM and paid a guy to SCN code it. Most of it works now there is a problem with SRS - Airbag warning light ( says variant coding issue). He was unable to fix it
Other issue is no "power windows" !!!
Remove the battery for 5 minutes and windows should be OK, if not maybe your codings are wrong,
Do you have Xentry?
Hey mate,
thanks for that.
I got someone to code it and I don't think he could do it.
The boot open button opens the driver side window, looks like coding issue to me

The replacement SAM module will not work properly until it is SCN coded and variant programmed to your vehicle’s VIN using Mercedes Xentry/Star Diagnostics. After installation, you need to perform coding/adaptations, clear all fault codes, and verify CAN communication. Without coding, you’ll continue to see electrical issues or non-functional systems even if the module powers on.
No. The car doesn't crank over. Nothing happens when key is turned except that the steering wheel does unlock and lights on the dash come on. Only communication with ESP and SRS modules.
Yeah the plug and play option is ideal. However, by luck I obtained the newer (used) one for free.
I wonder if anybody has any luck with that EEPROM switch over.....🤔 or how can I obtain Xentry, Vediamo or DTS Monaco software?

Old eeprom data is related with the old Software that's suitable for old HW. Using old data over the new HW/SW will bring you a bricked SAM.
Any laptop, Vediamo from internet, Openport interface will be the cheapest solution, if the fuses and relays are on the same positions like in the old SAM....

I have the cable that has the OBD adapter on one end and the USB for the laptop on the other. Also, have a laptop that already has WIS/EPC on it and so just need to know how to obtain Vediamo, please somebody. 🙏
I got a guy to help me and his team also helped me from US ( I am in Australia).
I am in a kind of sticky situation here. I bought the part from overseas and its for LEFT HAND DRIVE vehicle where as mine is Right Hand Drive.
Tried SCN coding both online and offline and it still is not 100%.
I cannot get the windows to work.
Anyone had similar experience ?
Thanks,
Rahul
Although you hijacked another thread, and you didn't add any context, till you answer my question from post #4, you may try this procedure ( this has to be done when a newer SAM - the one with 212900...- is installed on an older car).
