Thanks for the guide!
I think outside the US, the base model line comes with exhaust pipes that aren't accentuated with trim, i.e. aren't "visible." They're still there, of course, but they blend into the rear bumper. In the US, the base model = sport but it has visible pipes.
Can you order the 321-Sport Package (which includes the 486-Sport Suspension) with the 489-Airmatic Package or are they mutually exclusive? And if they can be gotten together, does the Airmatic Package have a setting that's equivalent to the Sport Suspension?
Dynamic LED Headlights requires the Premium Package? So to get this self-described "standalone" option, you need to order something else - that's a creative use of the word by Mercedes marketing. By comparison, the W204 Lighting Package can be ordered by itself, no Premium Package required. Hopefully this silliness won't be finalized.

Pete. In most markets as an example with diesel, there is a faux exhaust trim panel as shown below. The exhausts turn down behind it & blow down on the road wheres gasoline models look pretty much the same but the exhaust tips are real & shaped like the faux panel. The look remains consistent, the execution different. The US never sells the base or "Classic" models which are really more for Taxi & farmer service etc. In the past many gasoline models in ROW had hidden exhausts.
Seems all US models will have active trimmed exhausts & the trim panel will not be employed. Look will be the same.
See faux diesel panel as example.

MBUSA does the strangest things. When East London SA had the W204 build contract the production guys would shake their head with US orders & say "we don't recommend that" & "why don't they follow the global standards".
"Ah well. We will just build what they want"
It's going to be interesting to see whether Germany forces the US in line with global nomenclature standards this time. Renaming models for US sale has been a source of constant irritation.

How come you can only order 2 interior colors on the Luxury models?
What if you want a "normal" sunroof b/c you park your car outside all the time and think the panoramic roof will let in too much sun?
Why isn't Surround View included w/ Parktronic?
It'll be interesting to see how most of the cars on the lots are configured and if the options and packages change over time....

Hi all, Does anyone have a copy of the UK version of the Dealer Ordering Guide which they could share?
When I visited an MB dealer a couple of weeks ago the sales guy showed me a document on his computer which looked similar to this USA document but he said he wasn't permitted to let me have a copy. Here in the UK I know we'll be getting different model variants to those outlined in the USA document. For example, I understand first deliveries in June and will be limited to RWD C200 and a lower powered diesel alternative. Some UK pricing details were announced last week but details of the model variants and options are very sketchy.
Many thanks, Roger

good grief. it looks like the UK version of the sport is perfect. lowered COMFORT suspension (sporty look, with comfort to boot), standard nav, c200 (cost effective, but still plenty of power IMO), rear wheel drive. why in the h*ll isn't this version available in the US to begin with!!!!!!!
from what i understand, the US version will begin with only a c300 and c400 4matic. a RWD is to come later, but i want the c200 rwd, which is a perfect marriage of upgrade and cost.

Many thanks ddarko that's great.
It's a nice surprise to find the air suspension option is only £895 whereas I think it's about £1,400 on the E Class here in the UK.
I'm still a bit confused about some of the various options and what is included in the different packages and model variants. Hopefully the UK Mercedes website will soon get a model configurator like that on the German Mercedes website. However, I think I'll try to be patient and wait until later this year before placing an order. I'm really looking forward to a test drive when it's launched here in June.

updated USA preliminary order guide - Jan 2014
Courtesy of a member from another forum, an updated USA dealer order guide from January 2014. It's more recent than the one in the initial post of this thread. New pages include close-up pictures of the interior combinations and headlight options and additions/subtractions to the option packages.

Edited to add:
I just re-read your first post seeking a UK guide and saw that your dealer did have it, he just wasn't willing to give you a copy. Sorry about that. Maybe he'd be more willing to give you a copy now that prices are out and Mercedes is accepting orders?
Sorry, I got the guide from a user on another forum, not MBUSA, so no idea when US prices will be released.

Still can't believe no std sunroof and you have to buy the pano roof if you want one and no lux C400. The C400 would truly be a mini S class if it were a luxery.
