Memory problems CD player Comand W205

I' m driving my new C Class for a month now. Nice car! The only irritating thing is the memory problem with the CD player.
MB tells me I've to wait till October to get it fixed with an update of the Comand system. It seems it's a known problem but I can't get any information about it on the internet. Who else has also memory with the CD player.
Problem: Parking it for a few hours the CD starts all over again. Parking for a few minutes it plays a random number and then gets stuck.

Sounds like a silly bug that should have been caught a long time ago. If it is really bugging you why don't you try copying the CD to the hard disk in the car? See if that keeps the track location for you. Sure, not many people use this feature, but why not? It is pretty easy to do, doesn't take that long and you don't have to fumble with the CD's any more.

The W205 isn't that old, so it takes a little time and wasn't found before.
Hard disk in the audio 20? Can you explain how? I only know I can use a memory card or USB stick (memory card slot is used for Garmin map pilot)

The Command system is pretty old. Even if the w205 gets an all new system they already have everything and they should know how to make things work.

I don't have a new C-class so I can't say how to do it for sure, but if previous systems are any indication, there should be an option tab in the audio control when you have a CD in there. Select it and it should give the option to save to music register or something like that. Let us know how it goes.

@ddeliber.
Well I don't know if I've used the correct name, but the audio 20 is brand new. I also expected that it would work just fine, but it isn't.
I've checked the manual and it doesn't have a harddisk.
I think the new system has different features then you are used too know.

My bad there. I was assuming that you had the COMMAND Nav and voice control system that comes with the multimedia package. I should have realized that you didn't when you said that the Map Pilot maps are stored on the memory card. Sorry for the confusion.

If you don't mind my asking, did they charge you separately for the maps card and activation of Nav or did that come with the car?

You're exactly right...I've placed all my music on a portable hard drive (500gb)...when I test drove the C300 & C400 I plugged it into the USB port and it played just fine...and as you said you can also put it on the internal hard drive...

Well... Good for You!

I have CD's and I don't want spend useless time on copying them to a hard disk, when my car has a CD player...
And...
As You can read before, my W205 C Class don't have a internal hard drive...

Hey just trying to offer you some solutions but by all means continue doing what you're doing...seems like it's working for ya!! And as you can read my post was intended for ddeliber...that's why I piggy backed on his post...FWIW.

Yes, but when You read the discussion well, he made a wrong assumption about having an internal hard disk in the w205, so did you.

I think people post and read forums to gather information and hopefully learn something...I think both posts were well intentioned. What was not expected was your sarcastic response...if you feel the need to respond in that manner maybe posting on an open forum isn't for you.

Finger on the spot.
Yes people read this threat for information, the correct information; no internal hard disk and memory problems with the CD player. And a workaround is not a solution!
My response on you has this tone of voice, because you always seems to mention your test drive in the c300/c400 in almost every post you make (sarcastic) I understand you are proud on becoming an MB driver, but you can overdue.

I can't change the titel. But when You read my postings well; I wrote: '@ddeliber.
Well I don't know if I've used the correct name, but the audio 20...'
That cleared up the wrong assumption and confusion before, hope It does now. Good luck to you too.

Finally, I just got my car back from the dealer where it got the software update. I'm glad because the last day's I got more and more software problems:
* My navigation screen got stuck, and the other day it was working fine again.
* Park assist spotted parking space, when there was absolut no space to park the car.
* Telephone connection was working real slow

For now the software update seems to be working fine. If otherwise I keep you informed

I was having the same memory problem, and now there's a new one. As of today it no longer seems to recognize CDs at all. I'm not talking about a burned computer disc, but a store bought jazz CD.

Do you already have had the software update? Since then it's working fine for me.
