Mercedes Benz C-class W205 Problems Malfunction What Is Your Experience ?
After driving my lovely C200 for the first 4 months without any issues my car had to be towed to the dealer today. It was a very cold morning here in western Finland, minus 25 degrees Celsius. Car started without any problems but after driving about 1 km the engine started running very rough and the engine warning light came on. I turned the car off and back on a few times and the problem reappeared every time. I drove to my work and the engine continued to run with lots of vibrations and all the performance was gone. After a few hours I tried once more, but engine was still running rough.
My dealer wanted the car to be towed to avoid any damage to the engine. MB Roadside Assistance arranged for towing and brought a replacement car to my work and their service was really good. The bad thing is my dealer probably won’t have time to have a look at my car in the next few days so I’m stuck driving a Ford Mondeo over the weekend

Other than that this car has been rock solid. No rattles or malfunctions. I do wish the tranny would shift more like the C63s though.

…After a long discussion and I agreed to take the car back and test drive it myself as I have no long trips planned in near future. They had measured compression ratios and other parameters and were 100 percent sure the engine itself was fine. They also said it would be safe to drive the car to the closest MB service with only 3 cylinders as the only part in danger would be the spark plug. I’m almost certain the problem had something to do with very cold weather and it seems like we will hit even lower temperatures on Monday next week so let's see if something happens then.
I have to say I’m not pleased to drive a new premium car which might or might not fail again. I was also disappointed in how long it took for my dealer even to start working with my car and they didn’t keep me at all informed about what was going on and I was getting really pissed off. I’m going to ask for an explantion on those things. The chief technician I spoke today on the other hand was very supportive and professional so my faith wasn't completely ruined.

With a good dealer, this should get sorted out properly and you can get back to enjoying your car rather than worrying about it. Good luck.

It seems it was a very simple problem but took unnecessarily long to fix. When I went to the dealer to today they first said they could only schedule my car for Thursday next week (6 days from now). I said that’s not even close to acceptable and contacted the service manager to whom I already yesterday sent an e-mail about the long delay. He was apologetic and made sure they read the engine diagnostics right away.

Didn't know the Eject button trick (is this a documented trick?) but no button presses, holds did anything. Drove to work..
At worked, parked it and turned it off for a few minutes. Restart and all was back to normal - but still - a bit concerned. There are 'some' who must have the navigation to get anywhere. Is this a documented problem by others?

After nearly 18 months, and 18,000kms, I have to report that our C250 (German built) has been almost flawless, as you'd expect!
We are very happy with it. Comfortable, sporty, safe, and a great all round vehicle.
Would buy another one in a heartbeat. Tempted to swap it for a new GLC250 but we'll just sit back for a bit longer and see how things pan out

As always happy & safe motoring fellow Benz lovers

C300 #2: 3/15 build. Car is now one year old with 11,000 miles on it. Total service has been a Keyless Go software update, a fuel filler vent replacement to prevent shut-offs at the gas pump while filling, and a wiper blade replacement. This car has been rock solid.
