Had this issue earlier over the weekend. It was cold in the afternoon around 12 deg . Wind chill be 10 deg c. After 30 s. It was back to normal.

I will monitor mine.

Wife just passed 6 months only 2500 miles. There's a vibration from rear driver's side exhaust. Still haven't fixed taillight alignment and there's several rattles. Luckily didn't have bleeding seats or Led problems. Everything else seems ok, as it should be for a new 50k vehicle. Still it's no comparison to the German build quality of my previous c300 which felt more solid. Luckily my wife isn't as particular about these things as I am, and she absolutely loves her C.

In what country are you where it's 12 deg. C.? (Never mind the wind chill; wind chill doesn't apply to machinery.) Please update your profile, so your country, at least, will always be associated with your posts.

I also have a C250BT and I have also experienced this "so called turbo lag".
It happens when the car is hot and in busy traffic / intersections. I get the burning smell too.
The Merc service centre I went to told me a "software ugrade" was needed. I find that hard to believe.

Please let me know if you do manage to get it resolved. Hopefully it is a common problem and the Merc service centres will know what to do eventually.

The burning smell is normal. I got it around the 700km mark as well and it had mentioned by several others here who drive the BT. Apparently it's a computer generated high temperature burn-off to do with the emissions system.

I had it trigger again last week (around 4000km) at a set of lights and it looked like the back of the car was on fire .. lots of smoke.

Part of the fun of driving a diesel huh..

Acceleration problems and more

Copied from my other thread:

While I was accelerating on the freeway, the car suddenly stopped accelerating and I guess the closest description of what happened is as if the motor kept choking out. I had to pull-over and restart the motor and the problem persisted again! It kept happening while accelerating from 45-65 and in 4th and 5th gear at least over 20 times over the road trip. At first, it freaked me out as it was a huge safety hazard but I had no choice but to keep driving as I was in the middle of nowhere. I literally had to feather the throttle super lightly for the rest of the road trip all the while not knowing if the car was going to completely break down on me. I had to suffer over 8 hours of driving not knowing if the car would breakdown.

Took the car into service on Monday and just got a call back. Service department is claiming they couldn't find the issue, they reprogrammed the car and test drove it and it's fine. I'm almost sure this problem hasn't been fixed and worst part is that the problem will probably happen the next time I go on a road trip. Super frustrated right now...going into the service dep. my main concern is that they wouldn't be able to mimic the acceleration issue on command.

Car is at 6k miles.
Another issue: Roof hatch on front driver side was loose and kept flipping up and down while driving. Ignored it for 6k miles cause no time to bring in for service for small issue.

Hi Rustycruiser,

With regards to the item on the door misalignment, I had similar problem with the door handle misalignment issue. Have you got yours fixed? I have attached a picture of mine driver door handle. Notice the misalignment of the the handle & the door key cap? Is it like out by 1mm or so.
Has anyone got similar problem like mine? Has it been fixed ?

And I'm back!

Today's lucky prize is a busted driver-side door retention mechanism.

Last night as I was getting out of the car I heard a loud creak/pop when I opened the door. I thought something got jammed in there, it was dark.

Today I open the door and noticed it doesn't "stop" at certain points like all the other doors. I don't know the technical term but I call it the anti-ankle-buster.

If I open the door and let it go, it will just swing back and slam closed (but not shut all the way).

Here's a video, sorry for the heavy breathing as I'm more than a little pissed off haha. You can see the rear door not slam all the way back a few times, this is how the front door SHOULD react:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hcxpchthss...37.46.mp4?dl=0

So far here's my running tally:
1) 7 miles (Day 0) - Broken Satellite (Sirius), NO SIGNAL. Ever. Even after refresh.
2) 20 miles (Day 2) - Broken pano-roof shade, won't close, jumped off the rails.
3) 1700 miles (Day 36) - Broken door retention mechanism.

I'm setting up a service call ASAP and I expect to be without the car for at least 2 weeks.

Thanks for the quality $85k car, MB! Never buy first-release.

OK, first I will say I like the C300, that is why I bought it. I have read the common issues like mb-tex, wind noise, misalignments... I can live with those I guess BUT I have 2 manin issues with this car that just happened to me.

1)Car went to limp mode! driving at 45mph - check engine light came on, engine stalled, all warning lights came on then off. Luckily I was able to coast and brake safely. Now the check engine light is always lit. This is not acceptable. It is a huge safety concern if we cannot depend on the car. No time to take photo as it happen so fast, just lucky to stop safely.

2) car does not start sometimes - when you push the start button - the needles on both instrument panel just spins and comes back down. Main indicators - brakes feel heavy when you depress to push start, both 'park' and 'brake' warning light on.

How many of you have encountered the above 2 issues, particulary #1.

I have had #2 as you described. The dealer could find nothing wrong. It only happened twice, but I do worry about safety.

Passenger Door Module failure

After 5 months, seemingly my front passenger Door Module has failed when away from home. The mirror would not fold out, door open or any electrics associated with the door operate (seats etc). The car has been at a dealer for a week, parts coming from Germany. As I understand they need to break through door panel to achieve a repair.

MB provided a hire car but spec was no where near my car, grrrr!

As I have returned home, when fixed they will return my car on a trailer!

I have a 2015 C400 with approximately 12,500 miles. I purchased the car on January 27, 2015. Since i got the car, it's been to the dealership approximately 8 times (4 out of the 8 times my cars been at the dealership for longer than 1 week). These are the list of problems I've had so far:

1) Panoramic sunroof shade was rattling so the dealer put felt tape on it.
2) A week later the sunroof shade began rattling again so the dealer applied more felt tape.
3) Rear passenger door was not closing so it had to be re-aligned.
4) Car shut off when I was at a stoplight. When I told service what happened they told me nothing could be done because it didn't set off any codes.
5) I have the Comfort Access but when I put my hand on the door handle the car wouldn't unlock. The keys were in my pocket so I took them out and held it to try and unlock the door but it still wouldn't work. I recorded everything on my phone and showed my service adviser but they said they couldn't do anything because no codes were set off.
6)There was a rattling coming from my drivers side door so the dealer put felt tape to fix the noise. A week later the noise returns and is even worse than before. They kept my car for about a week and a half and applied more felt tape and changed the seals. The car was good for about another week and the noise has returned. I haven't had a chance to bring the car back to the dealer. I hope when I bring the car back for the third time and for the exact same reason they'll do more than just apply felt tape.
7) The rear passenger door became misaligned again and had to be re-adjusted again.
8) Rear bumper was popping out and it had to be readjusted. Now when slight pressure is applied to the area that was adjusted it would make a loud squeaky noise. (I noticed the noise when I was drying my car after washing it)
9) When making turns, there's a noise coming from the steering column that sounds like there's a wire loose and it's rubbing against the plastic.

I will be bringing the car in next week to have them look at the door for the third time, have them look at the rear bumper and have them i inspect the steering column noise.

Another problem that I have had (and almost everyone else with this car) since purchasing the vehicle is the very loud wind noise when driving above 65 mph.

These are all the problems I've had so far and it hasn't even been a year.

after 5 days at dealer - they said the error code show fuel pump failure. They will replace that and update all the software. I only had the car for 5 months with 1900 miles. This is NOT a good start. I will check my build date when I get the car back.

Hello guys

I'm experiencing an issue with my automatic interior light system. Usually when you unlock the car, all interior lighting must turn on automatically.

Lately, only the front reading lamps are turning on when I unlock the car. The LED front panel does not light up, nor do the rear reading lamps.

I checked the buttons, there's an "off" button in the TOP FRONT PANEL. Switching it on or off has not resolved the issue.

I've also noticed the lights which light up when you open the sun visor do no longer work.

I've already gone twice to the local dealer here in Mauritius. They run some tests. Apparently everything was ok with the fuses. They even updated the software. The problem mysteriously disappeared at the local dealer. However when I lock and unlock the car again, the same issue crops up.

Any idea what that might be?

Thanking you in advance

I seem to recall this being normal and related to repeated locking and unlocking. Something about power saving and only the lights used commonly being on every time. My BMW does it if I unlock and re lock several times. The DRL no longer light nor does ambient work, just the main dome lights.

Does this happen every time or just on multiple opening and closing of the car?

I've noticed that for a few days now. Well when the problem gnawed at me, I tried to check the settings and unlock and lock repeatedly [maybe not a wise thing to do if that's all about power saving]

If it were some power saving trick, would it be correct to say that I would still be able to manually switch the lights on? I cannot switch those lights on manually. That's weird

It seems to be like the American built cars are having all the issues - why?

tesla cars delivered to Norway also has a lot of the same issues today as day one, with water leaking in rear taillights, and system failure, and panorama issues.

Bad machine work or lazy workers?

I am seeing hard downshifts in EVERY mode. Basically dropping from 50+ down is getting one or more hard downshifts. I heard on the forum that there was a software fix available in Q3, but I just spoke with a dealership, and they've not heard of one. Suggestions?
