Mercedes C180 W205 2015 - Command and Dealer/Engineering Mode Question

Good afternoon to everyone,

I have recently bought my first MB, a C180 2015 with avantgarde package.
I did not go with the COMMAND ONLINE package, which includes larger screen and youtube, as I mostly use Waze.

I have been reading threads from other models, and it appears that there is some sort of "secret menus" in which I can enable some extra features (such as apps)...

Would anyone be able to clear this out ti me? In case I do have some options in sight, what would you recommend?

Thank you very much!

Best Regards,
FX

There is short mention of this on the German www.motor-talk.de forum:

- Ignition in first stage

- set central display at Daytrip

- Press Phone button (accept call) and OK button at the same time for about 5 seconds

It might not work the first time, sometimes the second time is more succesful

Did the engineering mode allow you to do anything good, like add the missing Google local search app to Audio 20?
;-)

No, not commonly known right now, not even on German fora

Other option could be the use of the Xentry Diagnostic software, MB uses, but this goes a lot further then using a hidden menu of some kind

Thanks
Thank you very much for your quick answer.
Hopefully their is a way to do it, and it's just not out yet.
I wanted to unlock the use of GPS entry and DVD when the vehicle is in motion. (Wich I don't recommend for driving safety)
😉 I know that the new 2014-15 CLA have the access to the hidden engenering menu by pressing "hang up button" "#". "3" together.
😞

There you shall be able to unlock the option to play a DVD or type an entry on the GPS while the vehicle is in motion 😉

(This is not recommended to do for safety)

Those commande is to access the option for the technician menu, to reset brakes pads change, and maintenance work. Etc...
Not the option I am looking for.
I want to enable DVD play while the vehicle is in motion, this is for the main screen.

Engineering mode for new c class interior.!!!
Hello can any one tell me how to get into engineering mode for the new September 2014 c class. There is no key pad. I know how to get into the workshop mode by pressing pick up and hold ok button while in daytrip.!!!

The premium pack speakers in my car are ****. Every time I turn up the volume it sounds distorted and there is a limit on the volume button.

If any one can help it would be much appreciated.

Thank you all for the reply!
In summary what everyone is looking after is tweaking audio/video/gps settings at most, right? And from what i have read, there are no references yet as of how to do it...?

As far as I know there is no way to enter the engineering mode that you are looking for.

I decided to use the software solution being sold by
http://www.bimmerguru.com
To unlock DVD / Navigation in motion. Now you can enter Nav addresses while in motion.

They do not list W205 in their supported vehicles.

I spoke with them last week and they do support W205 now, their website hasn't been updated yet

I have no desire to watch Frozen for the zillionth time, but it certainly keeps the kids from being at each other while sitting in the backseat. Also, anyone who is stupid enough to actually watch a DVD while they're driving will self-Darwin soon enough. But I hope they don't take anyone else with them in the process. Having said that, I don't like the idea of anyone else making the decision for me "what is correct" vs. not. As if fiddling through 100+ channels of Sirius or fiddling through 5000 songs through the iPod connection was safe - but they certainly allow you to do it.

I know dvdinmotion.com sells the ability to do this for $200 or something like that. But this is supposedly as simple as the dealer "flicking" a software switch. I don't want to go with the dvdinmotion.com since I don't know what else they are playing around with when they load their software.

So does anyone have any updates if this switch is accessible to us through the engineering menu?

It's not accessible, the software solutions offered are the simplest way to go and are proven. The other option would be to install a bypass adapter
