Bigger Diesels Engines

Hi All

Currently driving a c350 Sport plus (2012 model) and have covered just shy of 100k brilliant miles and looking to change......

Does anyone know if Mercedes are going to bring out a bigger diesel engine in the new c class model......as rivals all have some 300+bhp in their ranges..... and seriously dont want to deflect or go backwards....

That is a bummer. I have the 2014 Audi Q5 with their 3.0l tdi engine and love the combination of torque and great gas mileage. This is the same engine they put in their A6 and A7 cars and seems like a great size of engine to put into the new C class. I would be very interested in getting a bluetec if it had a bit more power like the Audi choices we have in the US.

I think the 3.0 tdi in the audis will be a thing in the past too. Carmakers are going to try to meet cafe standards by offering high mpg, low displacement "alternative" vehicles. They can only do so much with the standard petrol technology. I think petrol engines have reached their peak efficiency, so the only thing left is to save weight.

Frankly, 200hp and 360+ torque in the C class is good enough. On the E class, it gets 42 mpg highway. I can only assume that the lighter, more aerodynamic C class will get at least 45. Prius numbers is a breakthrough

Has anyone received confirmation that the 2.1L 195 HP twin turbo engine will be available for MY2016 in North America for W205 ?

That combo would make for a great performing car with stunning fuel efficiency.

I'd love to get a C250BT Wagon or B250BT.

When I was in Sydney + Melbourne in April I even saw an ML250BT!
