loaded to the bones minus driver assistance and leather:
scared ****less in NY to park it in the streets.......way too many wheel thieves these days.......sigh...
Where you park is worse than on the street, because the thieves have some privacy. But they would find it difficult to take your passenger-side wheels if you back in 6" from the wall. (Careful, don't try it after a few pops!) Many thieves would pass, if they can't take all four wheels. But some would not.
I have to park my beauty on the "street" too. It does bother me, even though the "street" is indeed a public way, but it is a cul-de-sac in an elderly housing facility in an upscale suburb. I still got the LoJack vehicle recovery system as a dealer option. The optional Early Warning feature telephones, texts, or emails the owner if the vehicle is moved without the owner being present. It doesn't protect wheels or other equipment though.

but the wheel locks from any car manufacturer are VERY easy to break.
what the thieves do if they can't loosen the bolts, is to over-tighten them and break the socket all together. they usually use a universal socket to get them out. They are pretty good at this, i've seen plenty of videos where it takes them 5-10 minutes for all 4 wheels.
Wheels you see on craigslist are usually stolen, or bought stolen.
i'm not worried at all in my driveway, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get them out without alarming anyone. Also, i live in an area where wheels never get stolen, pretty upscale part of NY. Any suspicious cars/individuals usually get checked by security.
i'm worried when i go park at a friend's house or restaurants with no parking lots. i also work in parts of brooklyn in some of the worst neighborhoods in america (google brownsville, east ny, or bedford-stuyvesant). This is when i get worried to death.
i got some bullock re-guards from a vendor here, i hope they deter the thieves.
