MB Applications on Navi?

While my phone was connected via the media port with full signal I tried activating MB Applications in the Navigation for COMAND Online but it does not activate or connect to the internet. Anyone have any idea how it works?

Won't have my car until Monday but, based on what I've read, mbrace has to be activated for an Internet connection to the apps. There's supposed to be a free trial subscription with the car, but I'm guessing it has to be activated by the dealer.

I also haven't received my order yet but I have come across this information in another forum. I think there is some sort of protocol compatibility with a lot of smart phones. A software engineer who is a member of this forum has written an app which can be installed that is supposed to solve the problem. Have a read of the forum below, give it a try and please let us know if that solved the problem.

Thanks!

Are the connection issues unique to Android? I wonder if there is also an issue connecting an IOS device.

I have an iPhone 5s and thought that data usage is automatically transmitted through Bluetooth/USB. Turned out that I had to turn on personal hotspot on my phone for COMAND Online features to work. It now works seamlessly, I can access TuneIn Radio, Google Maps, web, and Facebook from my car. Hate radios here as they all keep playing pop music over and over again so TuneIn radio will benefit me.

Did not need an mbrace subscription for COMAND to work. I have a 5GB data plan which I don't use entirely for the whole month. Much more convenient to use my phone. Plus I think mbrace is only available in the US and I'm based in Dubai.
