Change centre console and side trim?

I have a C200 and would like to know whether it's possible to change the piano black centre console and aluminium side trims to black ash wood after a couple of years.

Sure you can but why would you? Yu can also remove the entire drivetrain and replace it with a c400

The black plastic trim probably won't age well, it looks like it's very easy to scratch. I personally don't like the dual aluminium/black trim. Changing the drivetrain is significantly different to changing the interior trim, I don't know why you would mention it.

Yes, exactly. Agreed that it might not age too well and I really love the black ash wood trim, but I also do like the aluminium/black trim in my car. The piano black finishing looks beautiful yet I expect the ash wood to standout more.

Do you think I'd be able to change it directly from the dealer?

Center console is very easy to replace, the door trims on the other hand a bit more work.

My dealer's service center told me that they'll need to look into it to see if they could do it. Will let you know when they get back to me.

It does seem like a strenuous job but I really hope my dealer can do it.

Dealers here don't seem to like or be able to order the exact parts that didn't come on your exact build, even to the color. Maybe for recall reasons? Once you get labor estimate, if ordering an issue, find vin of any car with color panels you want and see if they can order from there. Per dealer here, there is no record made on your or the other cars vin, it just allows parts computer system to order. Keep us posted, some of us here are addicts to mods like this.

Hi, you stand a better chance of getting help in the R171 forum, as you will get advice from owners of similar cars.

Best of luck.
