Mercedes to reveal 2 AMG Sport models in Detroit
Mercedes has confirmed that they will be revealing two AMG Sport models at the Detroit Auto Show. Of course rumors are that one of those models will be the C450 AMG Sport. Can't wait to see what it comes with and at what price.

Will C450 be RWD? When tested the current C400 4matic was very nose heavy and kinda burdened feeling IMO. Not so agile. Always interesting to see what is in the pipeline for MB.

It will be interesting to find out prices. Unless the price points are overzeallous in the C450, it makes the current C400 AWD seem to be the red headed step child of the US/Canada line up...I can't imagine the C400 version, already few and far between, of the W205 having a very long longevity or being popular, especially assuming the C450 is RWD and addresses the C400 nimbleness issues noted by several reviewers. Also question how popular and priced the upcoming plug in hybrid will be, as well as it's overall performance. The C63 will likely approach prices of a few actual sports cars, not just expensive "sporty looking 4 door luxury sedan with tons of power". Time will tell, they have Alabama plant growing to adapt to crank them out. I honestly wish MB had a tad fewer platform options, and MUCH more attention to detail perfecting the glitches and reliability.

i read official news in German site. C450 will be 4matic, 367 hp, brakes from genuine amg model. suspension components from genuine amg model.
there is some doubt how to interpret the suspension part. so it is not known yet, if it get the same suspension as genuine amg, or just some of components.
there was no mention of body kit or interior details.
edit: it will look the this photo - so different grill and special wheels for sure

Nice, but if I were an AMG owner, wouldn't be too pleased about diluting of the brand.
It may be a $5k increase to a C400, but I think it will easily co-exist in the lineup. The AMG is going to me M3 money, so there is a gap there for a 450 Sport.
