Not at all ideal & will harden at low temperature.

If the car is going to be dirty in winter anyway just paint some AF coolant around the filler flap.

Anti-freeze coolant? Won't it just drip away?

If you applied neat once a month in winter it would work. Otherwise you should find a thickened form.

Basically it wasn't locked. Just stuck.
I am having the same issue. Hitting the fuel door did not work and I do not find a release button in the trunk as suggested. Does anyone have any other ideas to get the door open?

Whew this thread is old and I had completely forgotten about it. My door was frozen so that was my issue. Keep in mind I had (and still have) the 2015 model so I'm not sure if anything has changed if you have a newer one and just posted in the wrong forum. The door is spring loaded. Push the left side and it will pop open. If your car is still on and the doors are locked it won't (this is unlikely for many I'm sure but possible where I live because of full service gas pumps). But if your car is on and the driver side door is unlocked, it will open.

Thanks for that tip. That is not working either. I am looking for trunk fuse diagrams now, since the cover is missing from my trunk.
