Foldable mirrors anyone?, help needed.

My mirror retrofit venture didnt turn out the way I wanted today, turns out that my outer mirror cover did not fit the new mirror housing.
But when searching EPC for the correct cover my car has the same part number as cars with foldable mirrors, very strange, could also be an EPC error but I first wanted to check one thing.

Could someone with foldable mirrors please measure this part on the RIGHT hand mirror?, that would be very appreciated!

I'd be happy to help but could you please post a better photo? I can't really tell what I'm looking at.

sorry, the picture is taken above the right side mirror housing, I need the width of the inner part of the mirror cover.

I stepped outside for a second and the passenger side mirror is definetly larger than the driver side. How much I don't recall...I got side tracked with a client. I can go back out and remeasure if you need an exact measurement.

Yeah if you could do that it would be great, however you dont need to be crazy accurate.
Also could you share your VIN?, then I can check EPC for the cover part number fitted to your car.

OK, if I'm understanding your request correctly it looks like the mirror measures 4 1/4" and my VIN# is 55SWF4KB2FU008124.

Hope that helps

Thanks a bunch, this helps a lot, but it is really odd, the mirror I ordered is as large as the driver's side and my cover will not fit.

The first time I measured the mirror housing I mis-understood you and measured the length of the mirror itself (the width of the glass if that makes any sense), not the direction you were originally looking for and I can tell you that based on my first measurement the passenger side is definitely larger.

I just measured the mirrors of each housing...

Driver side glass -
H - 4 1/2"
W - 6 1/4"

Passenger side glass -
H - 4 1/2"
W - 6 3/4"

Looking at Vic Viper's picture, I think he's looking for depth/thickness (specifically on the part closest to the window, along the top of the mirror).

Hey, Vic. Did you figure this out?

You have the specs for my car. Do they help?

I solved the problem, turns out the mirror I recieved was the wrong part, I got a right mirror for a RHD vehicle, hence the wrong size.
