If done by the book there wont be any noice or rattles, I hav had my door panels removed twice and no problems.

As I said before the W205 is assembled with disassembly in mind, miles better than the previous W204.

hey VIC, you said something about:

A2056804601 Center panel, Black Wood Ash without ambience illumination,

it means that i can fit my current black piano trim ambience illumination system??

also, what about the clock wires? who can help about this connection?

i'm planning to replace only the center console and leave the door pannels as they are now, i guess it's a nice combination.

what do you guys think?

thanks in advance

I dont think ambience illumination is available for the piano trim, in any case it is hardwired to the panel so it cannot be transfered.

I have not looked into wiring of the clock, I have to go through wiring diagrams to do so.

Where does one find parts for this car except at the VERY expensive dealership? I've been wanting to swap by piano black non-illuminated panel for a black open-pore panel with clock. It's so easy to find parts for just about any other car on the internet, but MB parts seem hard to find.

1. Anyone find any of these parts?
2. Anyone find them priced at a discount?

Thanks.

Did anyone notice the absence of a clock on this black open pore panel? So maybe there is a no-clock option available?

yea, exactly, there's no clock but you can see the semi hole in the wood surface, that's why you have to replace the switch panel also to get the last half of the semicircle where the clock is fitted.

i already found some stores to buy these items online, overal cost is $800

please if someone know a better and cheaper place to order please send link.

thanks

Anyone thought of vinyl wrapping the parts. I'm sure you could get the same open pore burwood look or in fact anything you want really

I'm in the process of doing this now. Going from piano to ash with the clock. Have the center console already($550) The other parts arrive at the dealer this week. It's been a clusterf*ck as the dealer tries to figure this out as they claim it's not a cut and dry process as every part number has to match the VIN. The rest of the parts and labor are supposed to cost another $900 approximately, which is ridiculous considering the way my car is optioned it would have been free if ash was even available on an available car when I bought mine. I'll report back once this is; done fingers crossed

Just an FYI to anyone doing this, it's not easy and its expensive. My car is currently at the dealership in pieces and once they took it apart they realized theres nothing to plug the car into. It needs a harness, possibly custom.

too bad to hear that my friend, i already have the clock and just ordered the wood console. it's way expensive!! i i had known...but now is too late.

i have the same problem as you , the clock connection, i'm planning to do all the replacing/ installation myself, but first i have to figure out how to power up the clock,

i guess custom wire for positive and negative is all we need

please let me know if you come up with some solution.

regards

Ok, here goes,

The clock is connected to the front Signal and Acquisition and Control Module (SAM) located in the engine bay under the left panel below the wind screen.

The clock is designated A70/1 and the SAM, N10/6

Pin 2 on the clock is ground and is on the diagram connected to ground Point W34 and is located in the right footwell (remove carpet)

Pin 1 is power supply connected to the front left fusebox fuse slot one, fuse position 3.

Pin 3 is "signal" connected to the front SAM though the LIN-bus system LIN channel 1.
Here you have the option of connecting it to an existing LIN wire already hooked up to additional systems, such as the HUD button if the car is equipped with this.
Otherwise use the Z50/38z1 LIN connector sleeve, unfortunately I dont have the location of this point.
The last option is to wire directly to SAM in connector "COC" pin 26

Power and ground can of course be hooked up elsewhere, but here are the basics, also you will need to add the SA Code 246 to the vehicle and SCN code the Instrument CLuster, the Audio HU, front SAM module and also Central Gateway to be sure.

I'm in the middle of this right now. Everything is installed but have to take the car back to the dealer to get the clock working.

Hi

I'm about to take delivery of C350e but Mercedes took a short cut and built one with piano black console instead of black wood with analog clock. They offered me wrist watch as compensation. Is it unreasonable to insist that they swap to what I ordered or built me a new one alligned with what I actually ordered. Or should I stick with the watch?

when you see all of those fingerprints and scratches on the piano black center console, you will be regretting accepting that china made watch.

tell the dealer to make the car how it was ordered or you are out.

That was the whole point in ordering wood in the first place!

The dealer tells me that a re-order will not materialize in a new car until March due to "MB production planning". I have said that I am unimpressed by that because according to MB production planning my car shouldn't have arrived until January - it was two months early - in the first place and then with a wood console because, accedently, that was what I wanted. MB production planning is evidently completely unrelated to IRL.

A watch as compensation .. are they serious!? Honestly I think sometimes they forget who's the customer with a wad of cash. Buying a car like this is a serious investment so don't compromise - the gloss finish is awful and as soon as you see another car with the black wood you'll regret your decision. Make sure you get what you ordered, plus a discount or upgrade for your troubles. Otherwise cancel the order and shop elsewhere. I had similar dramas when I bought mine, but in the end the dealer found a solution. If they want your business, they'll work something out.

I must admit that they cought me off guard with that one. What should be my counter offer? A uni-sex watch (my wife has a stake in this too) and built to spec BMW.

Got a call from the dealer. They will change the console. The door panels will remain aluminium, which I don't have an issue with. Happy ending, hence.
