Inspection Check List prior to taking delivery

My C300 4Matic has arrived and I will be picking it up this coming Monday 1/19/15. Anyway, any check list out there for inspection prior to sign-off on the car due to high number of QA issues?

By the way,

Production date 12/23/14
Built completion date 1/7/15
Dealer delivered date 1/13/15

I would say that most issues (if any) are not noticed until after delivery. Of course if you see any obvious issues then you could address them...also during the delivery presentation...you may or may not notice some things which you could write down to have addressed. Typically the delivery presentation is done after you've completed all docs, 'cause once that's done you drive off in your new MB.
I'd be curious though what would/could they do on any items you'd like to have addressed "prior" to actually purchasing the car.

My plan is to inspect the car and test drive before signing. Too many QA issues to take the car first. Of course I will be reasonable as what will or not be acceptable to get done at a later date.

Congratulations! Looks like your car was one that spent Christmas in the factory during the shut down. Just curious on your delivery time frame, what area are you in?

I always thought when then narrowed down from which decade you'd get built and you got a precise "Production date", that was the date it was completed (or even started as fast as they roll though the factory). Obviously that's not true. Anyone else have several day completion after build date quote?

I'm located in the Phila, Pa area. My dealer gave me an estimated production date on the first decade of Jan 2015 (1/9/15) so I was surprised that it started production on 12/23. I think what they gave us is the completion date (week) and the production starts a week before (2.5 weeks in my case because of the shut down); of course I could be wrong.

I'm very concerned that it is made with defected MB-Tex.

I suggest you tell the dealer that they must leave the car outdoors on their lot overnight before delivery. Give the "new car prep" a pass on frost forming on the exterior paint. If they forget, push it another day. In Philly, with the current weather pattern, this should give you a good chance to evaluate the MBTex after an overnight freeze.

Sport, do you think the dealer is not going to wipe down the seat before I arrived if bleeding occurred overnight? I wouldn't hold my breath.

Oddly enough (or maybe not), I had a very misaligned assembly of the driver side carpeting that actually required a brand-new piece of carpet for that area. I missed it on delivery, but noticed it later that night. Anyway, I was first told that it would only take 2 weeks for the replacement -- it turned out to be about a 3-month wait instead.

So carefully check all the carpet seams and make sure they're all aligned like they should be.

(I also have the taillight issues. I'm guessing the Alabama folks aren't very good at quality control.)
