Lug Nut/Wheel Lock size

Does anyone know the bold size for W205?

I believe the dealers sell McGard (for about $120+tax) and are available for about $30 online. the McGard 28018 fit the W204 (M14x1.5 thread size, 1.84" length, 1.05" shank length) . Thanks!

I'm interested in this as well.

2013 C300's McGard P/N is 28174, same (M14x1.5 thread size, 1.82" length, 1.06" shank length); slightly different length. Don't know if this affect the fit or not??

Have to give McGard customer service a call.

McGard 28374 if you want black. Works on my C300 with the 18" five spoke wheels.

Thanks,
Sounds like all 3 of these options are same thread and hex size, minuscule difference in length, which from product reviews online, all seem to fit 2014 prior c class (and several other German builds). Looks like there's no change in the 2015 model year.

BTW, I'm not sure the OEM locks are made by McGard. If you look at some of the sets being sold as OEM, the container says they are made in Italy. Anyway, I believe the McGard are hardened like the OEM locks, and so long as you have the correct size, they should work. I was willing to get the OEM locks from the dealer, but the dealer said black wasn't available in the US for a while. The McGard were the same size and shape as the OEM lug nuts.

Just got my 2015 C300 4Matic Sport yesterday and I was very surprise that the 17" standard chrome wheels used black bolts so I ordered McGard 28374 (black) for $40 instead of 28174 (chrome). Glad I waited till the car came before ordering the wheel locks. Hope they fit.

Just want to confirmed that the McGard 28374 fits the standard 17" chrome wheels on my C300 perfectly; btw I have the standard C300 not Sport. Good luck.

djdj, I believe that's the same wheel on the C400 4matic as well, right? So does this wheel lock fit fine on them?
thought will stop donating more money to the dealer after getting my car .

So, when I first saw this thread I had just purchased my C300 4matic. I went to the Amazon link for the McGard 28374 wheel locks. Used their fitment tool and it verified that these locks would fit the W205. So, I was checking again today on Amazon, used the same fitment tool and now it says 28374 WILL NOT fit the W205!

Can anyone verify that this is the correct McGard for the W205? The McGard website is useless. I have the optional 18" five spoke wheels.

Thanks.

Use OE wheel locks, all others are pretty much useless.

Do you have experience with McGard you want to share?

Thanks.
I verified that McGard is for the W205, just not the 18" wheels. By the way, McGard's customer service is useless as well in determining what P/N to use for the 2015 C. I have to do my own analysis.

Truthfully, all wheel locks and alarms are pretty much useless. BUT keeps the inexperienced kids from taking them and makes your car a little less appealing than the one next to you without. My MB dealers' USA OE were made in same city, same key codes as McGuard. I think same sources, different companies.

Amazon's system isn't updated yet with compatibility for W205 parts.

Miketc is right on with the ones which fit.

How come they should fit the W205 but not 18"wheels?

All new Mercs use the same size lug bolts (except for S,GLK,ML,GL)

And yes, I have first hand expernce with almost all types of wheel locks,I have enforced around 15 different types and MB OE is by far the hardest

They should fit the 18" wheels too but since I have the 17", I could only verified what I have experienced with. Acura, Honda, MB and many other mfr/dealers in the US use rebranded McGard and sold them as OEM wheel locks. I just don't see spending another $100 for the same lock.

The OE locks are made in Italy, I highly doubt they are made by McGard.

Just made a quick search on North American Ebay for part number B66470155 (silver OE locks) and they are all made in Italy.

Is this the P/N for 2015 C, lugs are black in color not silver?

LD McCauley LLC makes McGuard for USA OEM and aftermarket. MB dealer here sells them at their parts counter (references LD McCauley...not McGuard...and 'made in Italy') for $110. If you buy McGuard line online, they say 'made in USA' (kinda like any iPhone sold worldwide says 'designed in USA'...it's marketing...no Apple products are made here I don't think). LD McCauley was a big NASA contractor and had international ventures as well. If you want your bolts made from one place or another, you have the choice. I'm sure other companies make them. Either way, a professional crook will care less.

I'm no mechanic and haven't tried this, but this came up on a quick search. Any guess if it's for real? (And no worries on me starting a new side line of work. )

Vic,

For my education, how do you go about removing the wheel locks without the key? The lug is 1-2 inches deep inside the well that is slightly wider than the lug head.
