So in I went to the local Merc dealer with a spec for my c class c200 estate. They tell me I'd have to wait 5 months for it because they're not currently able to supply the 360 camera. So I have to wait or do without to get the car sooner.
Not sure what to do.. What's the problem?

I think the problem is the Camera supplier.

5 - 7 months is normal right now.

Also in Germany i have to wait for my s205 6 months. I ordered mine in November.

Following our discussion on my previous post on this subject, I went back and asked my supplying dealer to contact the factory. They came back to me to say they cannot supply to my timeframe (March build/April delivery) and the earliest they believe it could be done, would be July.

As my build is a confirmed date, and the fact their feedback remains extremely sceptical on the July date, means I am going to have to pass.

I suspect the OP is probably in the UK market - like you, I struggle to understand why the camera is rolling out in the SA market, but delayed in the UK.

There is limited supply of the camera so there are quotas per country.
For example Belgium had an allocation of 39 cameras for April builds.

This is because there was an issue with the camera interfering with the gps, so they had to delay the camera build for a few months...

That sounds reasonable, thanks for the info.

I wonder if I should delay the car for this, it's an option id like and would probably be annoyed I don't have if I just press ahead.

Disappointing. My car rolled off the production line last month. 29 th I think. MBAu still have nothing on this.

Would have liked the option but it's not a show stopper. I have it on my ML and it's handy especially for a car that big. I will live without it seems.

Well I've decided I want this option so I'm happy to wait for delivery. I'm getting many options and don't want to miss this one.

What bugs me is that its shown online, on the configurator etc, but you can't have it.

As far as I'm aware (in the UK) you can have it but you have to wait for it... The dealers may ask you if you want to remove it to speed up delivery/production of your car but if you tell them it's a must have then you just have to wait our your allocation of the cameras.

There must be quite a backlog of orders...

my C300 hybrid should be delivered with 360 camera beginning of June.

When I placed my C300 build order in California in the second week of February, the dealer told me that configurations that include the Rearview camera are being delayed. I assume the same camera supplier is involved with the 360 camera option ex-US (just more cameras)? The build date was scheduled for June, but my dealer was able to snag a build in May by someone who walked away from an older order that fortuitously included the Rearview camera. We then reconfigured that order with my other options. Anyone else in the US seeing delays for orders with the Rearview camera?
