Company Car config: Comand Online or HUD and Burmester?

Hi there,

I'm in for the new C350e
It's a special edition over here. Packed with lots of options:
- Avantgarde Exterior
- Exclusive interior
- 7G-Tronic plus
- Airmatic
- Pre conditioning
- Cruisecontrol
- Collision prevention Assist plus
- Attention Assist
- Led-Intelligent Light System
- Adaptieve lights
- Lichtmetalen velgen (17 inch),
- Heated seats
- Keyless-go start
- active parkassistant with parktronic
- rear view camera
- Audio 20 USB with Garmin

I'm also getting :
Drivers assistant plus
Tinted windows
Easy pack

But then begins a dilema:
Should I use the remaining budget on:
Comand online?
or Burmeister with the Head up Display?

I'm not quite aware af the advantages of the Comand online system.
it uses a HDD, but for music that does not matter USB/SD is good enough)
Larger screen, doesn't matter;
Better(?) traffic information, always useful
Traficsignd recognition, useful I guess?
Internet, couldn't care less
Few apps; als not interesting for me

Do both systems (Audio 20 or Comand) use linguatronic?
Do both systems support Apple Carplay?
What's the difference in navigation between both systems?

What els does Comand Online make it worth to spent almost $3.000,- on it?

Comand has a larger screen, the Music Register, and voice command. It's part of the Multimedia Package in the States and is also bundled here with the built in navigation system. Audio 20 uses the Garmin SD card. CarPlay is not available yet. The online apps are not included and must be subscribed to. Note that the package content varies with different markets.

The Burmester sound system is quite good and, IMHO, well worth the money. I have no experience with the HUD on this car, but reactions have been generally positive.

Thx. I'm aware that Carplay isn't yet available. But it's not sure if it will be available on both systems I guess?

I saw in a videoreview A new C-class heading towards a tunnel. It automatically closed the vents before the car entered the tunnel to keep the air in the car clean en fresh. I guess that's the Comand system at it's best?

The only clear advantage I can see and use so far is traffic sign recognition. Because I already have the garmin navigation (is that much worse?).
But I can't justify spending $3.000,- on just a (slightly) better navigation and traffic sign recognition.

HUD is a cool gadget I guess. Burmester is nice. If only for the nice metallic speakers.

I guess i'm better of with those two instead of Comand Online. But I fear that carplay is not available with the Audio 20 system.

This is what got me. I could care less about upgraded audio and wouldn't pay extra for it, but the metallic speaker covers look great and really change the whole look of the interior. For me, that alone was worth it.

RCHW,

I would get both the Comand online or Burmeister with the Head up Display. If I have to pick one, I would go for the Burmeister with HUD but without the Comand, you may missed out on some info displayed on the HUD. FYI, HUD is really nice and it displays Speed, Curise speed, headings, street name you travel on and turn by turn info from Nav.

I'd go with Comand Online... Linguatronic is so useful that once you've been accustomed to the Comand Online in your car, you cannot go back to Audio 20
Then again, with such a highly specced car I'd get Burmester and HUD too... At least that's what I did with mine

EQE 500 4MATIC replacing EQC 4matic AMG line P
If you have to choose I would say the burmester is a must not a choice.....frankly the basic audio 20 sound via the 5 speakers is poor, not really up to what you should expect in an mb at this price point. It is coloured and lacks good treble so the stereo effect is poor. The burmester is good.
Have test driven cars with hud and it is excellent, neither car had command, hud displayed speed limits, actual speed, and speedtronic or tempomatic settings, (cruise and limiter). Am sure after living with it I will not want a car without it.
Like you commands add on do not seem worth the price to me.

Seems to me you've pretty much already answered your own question.... Burmester and HUD are great options - so go with your gut.

Like others, if I specced without the COMAND, I would interminably be asking myself how much I am missing it. But if push came to shove, I would leave it off.

Well...Still couldn't choose. I talked with my employer to create a fiscal loophole that saves me about $200,- a month. This gives me the opportunity to order and the Comand, the Burmester and the HUD. Even have some room for the leather interior.

Very anxious to drive the car.
The C350 Plugin Hybrid is specced as a (for me) very fast car. 0-60 in 5,9 seconds and a top speed of 130!
Not yet available so ordering the car while not being able to drive it.
