MB W204, VW Polo, Audi R8 V10 - SOLD.
Glyn has already posted up (translated) instructions for adjusting the wiper arms. It sounds like the wipers need to go into the dealer to be adjusted.
If you think about it logically then if the sweeping action of the arm isn't in the correct plane of motion against the windscreen then you will get an irregular/odd motion against the glass. It sounds like the wiper arm is forcing the wiper blade itself against the windscreen which is causing the judder.

This is accurate information. The on-line manual (pg 333) states: Do not clean wiper blades too often and do not rub them too hard. Otherwise the graphite coating could be damaged. This could cause wiper noise.

Yes ~ don't mess with the blades. Just fit new ones untouched. But if the arms do not ensure the correct angle of attack you will never fix the problem.

Problem Fixed...
One month since I owned the new vehicle, in a rainy day, It started chattering when I turned it to intermittent/automatic sensing modes when it was raining (sometimes heavily sometimes not much).
-this happened only one day when it was raining.
While, yesterday, it was raining, the wiper chattered a bit for 2 seconds and it was gone... it FIXED itself. I guess the wiper blade was not very firm, so during in auto sensing modes, it chatters (did not happen for the other mode which wipers go faster and more frequently.
I hope it never comes back again.

After 4 trips to the dealer and OEM wiper replacement that did not solve the chattering, I replaced the blades with Bosch Icon 20 0E blades. I also used Griot's Glass sealant and so far the wipers have worked perfectly.

I've had my new c250 W205 just over 3 weeks and the wiper judder has started. Exactly the same problem as in my last c250 W204. Very very frustrating and disappointing for a car that is so good in every other aspect. Even my wife's Mazda at half the cost has wipers that are whisper quiet. The dealer tried hard to fix the 204 but never succeeded with either new blades or chemical film on the windscreen. Taking a video is a good idea because I don't think the dealers appreciate the problem when you explain it to them. If anyone has found a long term solution since these posts I would be grateful to hear of it.

So i have had this issue since day 1 of getting the car and only had the car for about 2 weeks. The first time i took the car in they said they did some stuff then that was it; however no positive results. When using wiper fluid it works great. So.... i just dropped it off again last night and these people treated me as if i was the dumbest person on earth. I took them a video, they told me the sound was normal (i think "oh thats normal" is a default answer). Then when looking at the car the first thing he did was hit the washer fluid which of course means they work great. We finally took it over to a hose and was able to make it happen; again, "oh thats a normal sound", the hell it is. So he then asked if i have cleaned the window. On first day i received the car it has done it and last weekend i did a full detail on the car, so yes i have cleaned the window. "Did you wipe down the wiper blades?" I said yes i always do when i wash my cars. He then proceeded to tell me that was my problem and it was my fault. "You see, MB had a special micro coating on the wiper blades and when you wipe them down with a rag it destroys them". Now im no wiper expert but i call BS. He then told me they couldn't warranty them because i wiped them down and ruined them myself. So my question to you all since this is my 1st MB, Is this true? Does MB have some half ***'d wiper tech on their blades that you can not touch them? sounds BS to me, but either way these wipers need to be fixed, it annoying and a safety hazard. So far MB service is severely letting me down. my infiniti dealer never had this much kick back nor with the other cars i had. Its still at the dealer now so we will see what happens.

After suffering through the chattery blades and three blade swaps, an internet search finally gave me the solution. The blades simply aren't angled appropriately, slightly torqueing them downward with an adjustable wrench the get the correct angle. Its a 5 minute fix. Wrap the flat potion of the wiper arm with electrical tape to avoid scratching the arm apply the adjustable wrench to the area. torque the arm downward (towards the hood firmly but carefully. Remove the tape, bingo! chatter gone. The "bend" on the arm is invisible. If it is, you went too primal on the thing and broke it
