Colour Help Please!!!

Hi,

First time posting here after spending several weeks reading the forum! Its been fantastic and has helped me pick my new car in every way except one... the colour!

I need to order my car tomorrow. I'm going for the C300 Hybrid estate AMG Line with the premium plus pack, black leather and black ash trim. I'm currently tied between three colours:

1)Brilliant Blue
2)Tenorite Grey
3)Iridium Silver

I love the look of the blue but haven't been able to see one in person. I went to the dealer today and they had no cars in that colour at all stating that they don't sell...

Tenorite Grey seems great on the W205 and I saw one today at the dealer and it was jaw dropping... my only issue is that you don't see as much of the AMG kit or the contrast of the black roof...

Iridium silver again looks great but worried its not very adventurous but does show the AMG kit and roof contrast well...

I cannot choose! Any input would be massively appreciated!

I'll kick it off with my current thinking (which has changed 3 times today) and that is Brilliant Blue...

I do like white but my current car is white and its a nightmare keeping clean (I do 50k miles per year mainly motorway)... Budget also doesn't allow for Designo colours unfortunately!!

I did see the colors your looking at when shopping for ours. With the black int. I liked the Iridium silver the best out of the three. The blue made the car look like a Nissan IMHO.

You're spot on - I feel like the blue potentially 'cheapens' the look if that is a word?! I'm really struggling on this one...

At the risk of sounding like a big girl (which I fear I already do) my argument against Iridium was not seeing the chrome highlights on the AMG front end which I think look great against colours where it can stand out... But then the pan roof stands out great against the Iridium... aaaarrrrgggghhh!!!

Actually I'm glad my roof doesn't contrast against the grey.

I love blue cars, my E36 M3 is Estoril Blue. If it were available in the US, I'd be driving a Brilliant Blue car right now instead of boring (but nice) Iridium Silver.

Unfortunately the blue on the 2015 C class is not a brilliant blue in my op. It looks like a run of the mill blue on a rice burner. No offense to anyone that has this color. Just my op. and everyone has one.

I've seen it on the C63 S and it looks "brilliant" enough for me.

I've ordered this exact spec. Blue exterior, white interior, 19" wheels etc. I think it looks stunning but most will want a non colour (white through black) because they're worried about resale or aren't very adventurous.

I don't care about those things, I think the blue with white interior is stunning and so I bought it.

US here ... I was choosing between Lunar Blue Metallic (in 1987 Ford called it Midnight Blue on my Mustang ... ah the old days) and Steel Grey. I went with Steel Grey (much darker than the iridium silver) for two reasons.

Steel Grey had a touch of blue that can be seen on a sunny day
The salesman's manager said "You know, 30% of the customers who choose blue tell me 'I wish I picked a different color, none of the grey customers tell me that.' "

BTW, you have a first world problem. I am not certain you can go wrong with either selection. As mentioned above, I went with the steel grey and black interior (burl wood). The charcoal / light grey -- and red interiors looked so much better. However, I tend to keep cars for ten plus years and went with black as a "better dirt / wear hider"

Enjoy your new ride!

Here are the two majors factors why I chose Iridium Silver for my car:

1. Darker colors are harder to keep clean. I had dark cars previously and while they looked great when clean, they quickly looked dirty and not too good.

2. I think the silhouette lines of the W205 are a bit plain / boring. I think it's the lines in the body panels that really make the car look great. My experience is that these lines stand out more in lighter colors, hence making the car look much better.

I also had your first world problem! Went from Obsidian Black to Polar White and then to Diamond White haha. I think you made the right choice going for blue it looks great and will be quite rare on UK roads.

I've also got a C300 Hybrid on order and will be picking it up within the next week or two Will be interesting to get behind the wheel as I've not seen anyone on the forum with a hybrid yet...

So I found a brilliant blue car today. It didn't look that brilliant in dark skies and the rain but the flake is big so in the sun I'm sure it would light up 'brilliantly'....
