Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport Is One Fast Poser

Anyone who ever actually raced a car (and not just watched TV shows or read articles like Glyn M Ruck) would know, you can never get enough power or grip.
A lot of people that reviews cars, have egos much bigger then their talents. People with big egos and less talent, prefer to be able to drive a car on track, basically with the accelerator pinned between corners. They want to be able to slam the throttle, because that's the manly thing to do. (they have seen this at the Movies)
When they get into a car where they can't do this, - they get scared. Then their ego dictate the logic that the car must be overpowered.
Horst Von Saurman's Supertest, has been regarded as the benchmark by the industry for many years now. He still does it, even though he retired from Auto Sport.
The numbers speaks for themselves. The SLS AMG completed the Supertest as fast as the equivalent Porsche and Ferrari.
Stating that the SLS AMG is "Pathetic on a track" just proves my point abouthe author of that remark gets his "insight" from TV shows and articles on the internet.
What you simply don't get is that the Porsche did it with 324 kW while the SLS required 420 or 435 kW dependent on model to achieve the same thing. (if it was a Black Series SLS 464 kW). Says a lot about that beautiful Porsche chassis. Do you comprehend??
Back on topic please!

There is a reason why many race car drivers prefer AMGs, and why many modders/track junkies also prefer Corvettes. The two share a lot of similar DNAs.

The SLS with the gullwing design goes after the style, at the expense of performance by adding weight at the top. And both models had identical power to weight ratio, before we even discuss chassis and the handicap of the SLS.
So they did equally well on lap times is a plus for SLS under the above constraint. Imagine the 997 was designed to have heavy lifting doors what would happen to it.

The Porsche & the Ferrari are finely honed to handle well. The SLS is a sledgehammer that has to make up on the straights with power what it looses in cornering & handling finesse due to weight & a compromised chassis.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Not at this level of supercar, they are all fast. There is no way that the SLS runs and hides from a GT3 only to lose it in the corners. Acceleration numbers are all pretty similar at that level, maybe power delivery or other characteristics may have a slight impact out of corners, but not I enough over 133 or whatever corners to matter.
Also I don't throw around big words unless I know what they mean.
Like "hypothetical", without pointing out what part you believed was hypothetical.
And does "hypothetical" automatically lead to "illogical"? Where did you learn that?

Anyway ~ here's holding thumbs for Lewis Hamilton Sunday.

All he needs to do is research official Nurburgring lap times and he will see that the SLS BS turned a 7:26.40 and the all mighty GT3RS 4.0 (rare limited production GT3) turned a sligtly slower 7:27.02....a run of the mill GT3 ran at a snails pace 7:33.20, nearly 8 seconds off the pace of the SLS BS
Also of note a plain Jane SLS GT beat the run of the mill GT3 around the ring too.
Mr. Ruck needs to get back into reality.

I see they let you out of jail

Feisty as ever .........
Have you see the Geneva photos of the C450, it's a great looking car. More like a C63 than a c400 for sure.

So you believe what you wish & I will continue with my thinking. Truce!
Let other members take this thread back on track. The complaints are building up against you again from members.
EDIT: BTW lateral G in isolation is not predictor of cornering speed.

The complaints are building against me??? I have not said anything to anyone except you. Obviously you have a problem with me.
