new C300 with Engine noise
For the wind noise I got a new RH side mirror and acoustic glass for driver's and passenger side windows. So far, the improvement is significant.
They also tested my engine and found an offending noise at 1700 rpm on deceleration. They replaced 129 parts in the engine including pistons, rings and connecting rods. The work involved what is described as a complete tear down and rebuild of the engine. That's a ton of labor. My customer copy of the work order does not show parts or labor cost for warranty work, but we are talking a lot of money. So if you own an engine that falls under this under the TSB, I would get it to the dealer for inspection. Had I not read of the problem on this site, I would have never known and could have ended up paying for this mess once the car was out of warranty.
I have driven the car only about 20 miles since getting it back, so I can't say anything about gas mileage yet. The power seems normal. Smoothness seems fine, too. But, I really won't know until I drive it more.

The exact cutoff date is 04/20/15. As I wrote in my post #30, "Note added 01-03-15: see the comment by deafcon at https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w2...il#post6612605. So that readers do not have go to deafcon's comment, here is the operative sentence, "Any M274 built at the Infiniti plant in Dechard before serial number ~43000, or built in Germany before roughly serial ~400000 could develop the problem. New wrist pins went into production engines starting April 20th."

So I take it my car does not fall under the TSB...but I'll ask my service manager anyway when I take it in for it's "A" service.
After 5 weeks of the CLA loaner, I was notified that the car was ready for me to pick up. The receipt was roughly 3 pages long and listed the following work as being completed:
Disconnected battery
Discharged a/c system
Removed engine with transmission
Installed engine on engine stand
Removed cylinder head' disassembled lower oil pan removed lanchester
Removed piston rods. Installed new updated pistons and rods, reassembled engine.
Reinstalled engine in vehicle with transmission. Reinstalled under panels.
Bleed coolant circuits. Installed new oil filter with new oil. Performed alignment.
Vehicle is functioning as designed
Also replaced front half shafts for customer's clicking noise on turns (removed wheels, torque strut, tie rods and old half shafts)
Also replaced 3 door handle lights
For a car that is a year old with 16k miles I find this to be unacceptable...
I am in the same situation. I have owned the car now for 13 months and have 14k on it. I also complained of the engine noise problem early on and they didn't hear it. Now they are doing the same repair you described. Do you think we have a case for replacement or are we stuck with our brand new rebuilt motors? I love my car but I feel like I bought a beta version. I'm driving a 2016 c300 4matic (loaner) that drives like a dream. My car has become sluggish over the past months, rattles from interior panels, speaker rattles, wind noise and misaligned rear bumper that no one seems to acknowledge and have at least 5 weeks in the first year that my car was in the dealer for one repair or another. What do you guys think my chances are of MBUSA making this right?
Thanks

If this were my car, I'd be talking to the dealership about a buyback or asking for a great deal on a 2016...
...or this would be the last Mercedes I'd ever buy.
Totally unacceptable to put up with this crap on a new vehicle.
Mercedes needs to stand behind that slogan "The Best or Nothing" and compensate the vehicle owner in some way shape or form...no ifs, ands, or buts.
1. bleeding MB-Tex -- seat covers replaced under warranty;
2. recall for potential fuel gauge short -- repaired under warranty;
3. recall for suspension nut -- replaced under warranty;
4. recall for steering software -- updated under warranty;
5. one exterior door handle light out -- replaced under warranty;
6. squealing brakes when cold -- front pads replaced with new shimmed pads under warranty;
7. squeaking/rattling windows -- MB lube applied by dealer under warranty;
8. misaligned taillights/bumper -- no joy; got the runaround from MB EuroMotors (my original dealer; poor service department) and MBUSA; not fixed;
9. one runflat sidewall bulge -- blamed on road hazard; replaced at my cost.
There were probably a couple of other things I can't recall offhand.
Yes, there are definitely some teething problems with the 2015 C300. I'm not happy with them. On the other hand, the number of problems is not materially different from those in my 2002 Cooper S which, once the initial problems/recalls were resolved, provided 10 years of trouble-free fun.
I am pretty sure that my C300 has this wrist pin problem (1/15 build) and I am appalled that that I own a new car that needs its engine rebuilt due to engineering mistakes. I’ll find out for sure later this week when I go in for my first service at 8100 miles.
So far, the car runs real good and there is no weird noise from the engine. In fact, you would never know the engine has been tampered with, except the problem noise is gone.
I am still waiting for acoustic glass. Supposedly coming from Germany. That has been over a month. That reminds me, I should email my SA and see if it has come in yet.

I don't have much hope though, they disregarded my report of wind noise, keyless go not always working, the transmission shifting hard from 1-2 & 2-3, & they didn't do a Nav Update saying the next update isn't until June. My car was built in Jan '15.
