Canadian C300 security anti-theft system and wheel lock

My dealer want me to buy wheel locks and security anti-theft with the lease.
Doesn't the car comes with some security system, what would this additional security anti-theft buy me?

Is there any reason I should get the OEM wheel locks?

I never heard that from a lease agreement, doesn't the insurance covers the car if stolen? I think the dealer wants you to spent more $$$?

The reason to get OEM locks is that you want to spent another $100 but others here have said that OEM locks are harder to crack. I for one didn't care, if they could get pass the non-OEM locks, then they should be awarded with the wheels and tires. I never have any rim/tire stolen from my last 8 cars with non-OEM locks so why start now.

Yes, the car has its own security system so you might want to ask your dealer what additional security they have in mind.

C300 model 2015
additional anti-theft costs

In montreal my insurance broker required i get the Sherlock markings which translated into insurance premiums savings.
The C300 came with mercedes lock nuts for the mags with no extra costs.

Sounds like your dealer is trying to upsell you.

The car already has the factory security system which is pretty good. They are not required to get sell that for a lease, at least not in Ontario

Also the car should already come with etching from the factory. Mine had it!

As it turns out, the security anti-theft is the security etching that they do during PDI. This supposes to help the cops to local missing car.

Again, why would a leasing company care if insurance will cover the car if 'missing'? Total BS.

MB W204, VW Polo, Audi R8 V10 - SOLD.
Whats the mark up for this additional security? If it's $20 then yeah whatever. If it's hundreds then as mentioned its just markup.
