So I get my C450 tomorrow in Canada and they sent me my contract for insurance. It appears MB canada has moved the residual from 63% to 61% and the results are about 2k to me.
They called me and didn't mention this, but said they had great news and they were giving me 450 a month off my first three payments (so 1350), and a pretty good deal on lease protection (which I really don't want).
I expect this is to offset the pain due to the residual change but I wasn't impressed that they didn't mention it and am asking them to hold to the original terms.
I assume the original deal I signed isn't binding?

Interesting - and no, the original deal you signed is not binding as the lease terms are only good for the calendar month. Subject to change afterwards.
Interesting on the first 3 payments - is that MB CAnada taking that off or is it the dealer absorbing that? Sounds like the 3 months free payments promotion that they often have - only thing is that is not a promotion that they have listed for February.
I am taking delivery of mine in February as well and am not impressed by the drop in residual - trying to work out some other incentive...

Unfortunately, the lease terms are based on the moment when you take delivery. One of the risks of ordering rather than buying off the lot.
Haven't you said earlier in this thread that you "drove it like you stole it from day 1" with your C450 though?
If so, what would be the difference between the used C63S with 10k miles, and the one you own and took 20% in depreciation on in the first year while also not "breaking it in properly"?
Regardless, I would assume that very few people would knowingly plan to purchase a new car that they only plan to keep for 10k miles...given the hit in value they would take over those 10k miles.
I'm sure there are some nightmare CPO stories, and some fairy-tale CPO stories. Similarly, there are plenty new car nightmares and fairy-tales as well. When you buy a car, German or not, you never really know what you're getting...you just hope for the best.
All of that said, I do understand your point that owning new is the lowest risk option...
I did do some spirited driving right out the dealership, however I made sure to keep under 85mph. I did everything else including only driving in S+ mode and putting the engine through every rpm range, I just never exceeded 85mph for the first 1000miles.
Ive owned 2 new cars in my life, 2011 G37xS coupe and the 2016 C450 and they've both been solid cars from day 1 and I've owned 3 used cars, 2001 ES300, 2008 GS 350, and 2012 Honda Accord all V6 all supposedly reliable vehicles all CPO vehicles and they all had problems from power steering to early timing belt problems and master cylinder problems and even transmission problem. I will never buy used again, not even the demo model or test drive car. I was offered a loaded C400 test drive car from my dealership for 42k out the door with 800miles and I quickly declined the offer
I have been seeing these leatherette floor mats floating around for a bit. Does anyone have any experience with these VERY Chinese made mats? They look great in the photos. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Best-...8.4.148.ns1W20
Terrible company to deal with. The company is basically 2 USC grads that serve as middlemen who purchase the product from China and up charge it.
The product fits horribly. It does look nice but the lack of fitment will drive you crazy.

Stick with OEM weather mats or weather tech.
I asked for MB all weather mats and wheel locks as freebies before I agreed to sign my purchase and the MB all weather mats are made to fit the w205 perfectly. I would recommend it over weather tech. Plus it has the MB 3point star on it
Hey guys, picked up my C450 tuesday, 1 month earlier ! So far im in love with it, only did 100 miles overall im really happy with my choice, exterior looks great, interior is gorgeous, the driving is really smooth and really fast in sport+ mode, exhaust note is nice altho it could have been a bit louder. Considering I am a petrolhead and my M3 has an aftermarket exhaust and sounds really loud, so i'm used to loud notes
Maybe in the near future they will release a nice exhaust for the C450 ?

Congrats Highbar! She's a beaut! We have the same color combo, my cranberry leather is one of my fave options!
Same here, I'm waiting for an aftermarket exhaust as well but the aftermarket needs to catch up to the C450's V6TT. I'm jealous that Non-US C450s come tinted stock, I would have get mine tinted sometime soon

Thanks man We have good taste it seems hehe. Yeah love the cranberry leather when I saw it irl I was suprised I thought it be more "red", but its darker, really like it.
Yeah hopefully we get some news about a new exhaust !
It was an option for my tinted windows, really like it tinted, it's a nice accent !
Picked mine up Friday. Awesome car. Haven't been this happy with a car since my 2000 A4. The fit and finish are great, the interior (cranberry on dark oak) looks exceptional and I love the contrast of the iridium silver w/ all the black elements. Car looks outstanding and is a huge parking lot attention grabber as far as I can tell in the first couple days.
Driving is fantastic. I figured I'd be in sport+ all the time, but honestly it's such an aggressive mode - for tooling around, it keeps you at 3000+ RPM and just teases you to mash it full time, so I find a great use for comfort when trying to keep things calm ;-)
Car seems really tight and very quiet for me (noticed lots of people mentioning rattles and I've yet to notice anything), and its a pure pleasure to drive. On 19" run flats you will notice the bumps no matter what mode you are in, but honestly if you are putting those tires on this car, you likely want that feeling.
Hoping the weather holds out through the end of "winter" here in Ontario Canada and we get some more depth in the rim market for snows next year as this is my daily driver.
looks like we might get some more detailed insight into exactly what is going to be in the C43 versions soon..
geneva premier of the C43 coupe first week of march.. these guys are saying there might be a chance the BT6 gets 401ps from 367ps.. I doubt the sedan will get that upgrade for the 2017 model
Question: Anyone price out the 19" 5-spoke wheels from the C63 for their C450? I like the 5-spoke design, but wanted the larger rim, wanted to know if this was possible.
2014 E350 Coupe (previous), 2016 C450 AMG Sport (previous), 2020 GLE450 (previous), 2021 S580 (now)
Man, I love my C450 so much. Such a great car all around and super fun to drive. I loved my E-Coupe, but this is on another level. Never thought I'd be saying that about a vehicle that technically falls within the C-Class!

my regret is I didn't pay attention to "air balance package"
so I didn't get it.
I guess I can buy aftermarket air ionic on amazon and spray the perfume manually.
Hey guys...just completed my muffler delete this morning. Replaced the mufflers with straight pipes and left the resonator in. It's pretty loud. Have the vivid racing tune Juicebox going in tomorrow. Check out the YouTube video if you want to hear what it sounds like. For $100 it's pretty darn good. It's pretty loud when under throttle on the freeway but I think I can live with it. Other option is to install two resonators where the mufflers were if I think it's too loud. I'll keep you posted. What are your thoughts?
