Hi guys - first time on the forum and had my new C450 for a week now. Loving it. Goes like mad. The comand system is a little frustrating comapred to the 335 but I'll get used to it.

Isn't that the point of going with a CPO, though? To shield against costly repairs or mechanical issues? Merc CPO maintains the standard 4 year/50k warranty, and then you get an additional 1 year covered.

Shouldn't you be studying for the bar right now. Don't forget to ask your dad fill your trust fund. It would be a shame if that new c450 got repoed.

Pure ad hominem bullcrap.
I've never owned jap crap in my life so why should I bother to know of it.
As for performance cars, I started with a Lotus in 1967, long before your politically correct *** even existed.
And, the trust was dissolved in 1972, when I bought a 4.2 liter E type, and promptly replaced the Zeniths with three Webers.

My old leaky GM quadrajet outperformed very POS weber that I attempted to downgrade to on my old Cheyenne PU. Weber=stuck floats and no power. The only Weber I'll trust is the one with a steak cooking on it.

CPO is still used. Don't let the dealership sugarcoat it with 3 words and expect it to be like new. No one treats your car better than yourself and that is why I rather own it from day 1, the peace of mind is priceless. I've even owned CPO Lexus before and even that had problem, Lexus, a brand to be top of the class in reliability. Generally, most of the "car experts" I've spoken with told me the rule of thumb is never buy a used German. I can't imagine how the person who sold his C63S at 10k must've driven it, probably like a maniac and did not break it in properly.

Car should be back within a month I want to stress that this is not the norm for exhaust systems they are doing r and d so I knew what I was getting into. I have a whole bunch of new parts waiting to be installed on the car once I get it back.

If so, what would be the difference between the used C63S with 10k miles, and the one you own and took 20% in depreciation on in the first year while also not "breaking it in properly"?
Regardless, I would assume that very few people would knowingly plan to purchase a new car that they only plan to keep for 10k miles...given the hit in value they would take over those 10k miles.
I'm sure there are some nightmare CPO stories, and some fairy-tale CPO stories. Similarly, there are plenty new car nightmares and fairy-tales as well. When you buy a car, German or not, you never really know what you're getting...you just hope for the best.
All of that said, I do understand your point that owning new is the lowest risk option...

I have been seeing these leatherette floor mats floating around for a bit. Does anyone have any experience with these VERY Chinese made mats? They look great in the photos.

So I get my C450 tomorrow in Canada and they sent me my contract for insurance. It appears MB canada has moved the residual from 63% to 61% and the results are about 2k to me.
They called me and didn't mention this, but said they had great news and they were giving me 450 a month off my first three payments (so 1350), and a pretty good deal on lease protection (which I really don't want).
I expect this is to offset the pain due to the residual change but I wasn't impressed that they didn't mention it and am asking them to hold to the original terms.
I assume the original deal I signed isn't binding?
