Congrats man! I know the feeling. I've been driving mine since November and I absolutely love the car.

Thanks, dude! I had been locked in on the Saddle Brown for a while, still remember the day I saw your initial pics of yours and at that point I was 100% locked in. It's my favorite option in the car, so classy looking with the linden wood.

I saw the order sheet and there may be another 25-30 coming until end of June to my dealership and that's it. There may be 5-6 left on the lot but with crappy options on them. Since mine is also a custom order, needed to act fast to take up one of those slot and we get stuck with whatever the dealership think it'll move until C43 shows up.
Oh really?! The salesperson never mentioned it being so close to or under invoice, but I can believe it...pretty crazy.

Sounds about right on those build dates, it took my dealer took a few days of calling dealers with allocations to get one to trade for late May, but the latest he said he would have one is late June. Guessing after that the builds will be for the C43s to be delivered in late Sept. Would've been cool to have an early C43 but 1) I don't want to wait until Sept and 2) saving $8.5K is enough consolation for me to take a C450.

Yeah, my dealer basically won't take custom order for June build, saying May builds are last. Now take that with a grain of salt because my relationship with MB is pretty new, as I know all the ins and out with Audi. So that may point to retooling for C43 starts in June and info for C43 should come out around July.

I didn't care, there enough cash for me on the table (especially for something that isn't on the lot) and MBFS usually have all kind of promo in this final stretch of 2016 model year. I was holding out for AMG Performance Seat on C43 but they added it to C450 for Canada just 2 months ago so I'm set.

Congrats! Beautiful color combo! Live the Designo seats.

Wait til after you break her in. It only gets better! I just broke 3000 miles today after receiving the car third week of September...and I took her on a trip from Philly to NY to the auto show and I had my rematch with a 2016 Maserati Q4 and I smashed it. He had 2 passengers this time whereas the other day I went up against a Maserati Q4S when I had 2 passengers. The C450 is one of the best price to power ratio for luxury sedans!

Just a quick suggestion here. When members are congratulating or replying to post with several photos, there is no need to repeat the photos in the post, it's particularly annoying for those of us who follow the thread on our smart phones.

Not sure why this would be a major surprise to anyone

I'd be more surprised if they left the sedan with the 7G.

I was originally pissed about missing out on the C43, but took delivery of my C450 4 weeks ago and am in love. Waiting for the C43 would have meant waiting another 8-9 months and I'm guessing prices will go up by a few thousand... First of all, I haven't driven the 9G so I don't know what I'm missing - all I do know is the 7G in my C450 feels and drives great to me! I have a 39 month lease, which will be up in no time - I will have my chance to sample whatever is the latest and greatest at that time...

To add to the additional wait time for delivery and the likely marginal price increase on the C43, the landscape for negotiating low prices on C450s seems pretty solid right now. Plenty of cars on the lot will be discounted and custom orders seem to be working out well for some too, myself included.

If you factor an estimated $2K price bump for the C43 base starting price (paired with very little ability to negotiate a discount of any kind on the early pre-orders) and the ease with which you can get $5K off C450s right now, you're looking at gaining $7K right off the bat. Lease or buy, that's a win. Finance a discounted C450 over 5 years, sell it after 3, come out way ahead in terms of cost of ownership (not even factoring the spread you will mark on car insurance for the more favorable rates).

I agree with everything u say except the $2,000 price bump. For sure, the level of discount won't be available on the C43 in the first 6 months or so on the market, but I don't expect the MSRP to change much, if at all. Mercedes wants to sell as much cars as possible, and already it's more expensive than the comparable product from Audi or BMW. I remember all the predictions about how much more expensive the 450 was gonna be over the C400, and that turned out to be false, as when you made allowance for the additional standard equipment the C450 had over the C400, the prices were basically unchanged.
I've been driving my C450 now for 5 months and I couldn't be happier. We all knew from then that the 9G was coming, but the next car is always going to be better, and I simply was not prepared to wait a year for it. I'm already salivating for my next car in 3 or so years, which, hopefully, will be the E43 coupe with the 9G and the rumoured straight 6.

Great points on my quote of an estimated $2k price bump, can't say I disagree. Either way, it's a range of $0 at best and $2k at absolute worst, and the discounts are ripe for the taking at the moment. I got 10% off with minimal work a week ago, or $6.4k.

I am also eyeballing an E43 as my next ride, or potentially a C63S if they ever get the 4MATIC (doubtful).

I have a hunch the next generation C63 will be available with 4matic. I have no inside information, off course, but if they continue to add power, traction will be more of an issue. I also think 4matic would make the car more desirable, especially here in Canada. These quotes from the AMG boss about the E63, also gives me hope

Awesome. Either way, C63S or E43, I will be happy.

I looked at an AMG CLS and priced it out online, came in at $130K, so I might wait a few extra years for that...at least until I'm 35.

One of the floor personnel for MB...for all I know he might not know jack, cuz they're always clueless (and carries around large cheatsheets as well as calling the E43 an E45) who knows

2016 C300 4matic
I just spoke to a dealer (in the Midwest) who said that the c450 will just be renamed, but the car and the engine will be the same on the c43.

He was willing to honor the offer that I got for the c450 to the c43, which would be great on a new year's model. So now I've got some more thinking to do.

That's easy: unless you absolutely need a new car, wait.

What did he say about the tranny? The title certificate? The declarations page? The registration?

I think it might be available, but not standard.. no real ability to drift the 4matic.

2016 C450 AMG Sport
Hey guys,

So I bought my C450 this January and have been riding it ever since. 2 days ago, I got a message on the dash saying "Check brake pad wear." I only had the car for 2 months and have driven it 2,500 miles. I mainly drive the car in comfort mode and barely push it to it's limit. I called the Mercedes-Benz service center and asked them to book an appointment for me to get the car checked. After talking to the receptionist, she said it was probably a problem with the censor. I asked her if I would be charged anything, and she said it would cost $160 for a diagnostic check. After telling her how I only had the car for a short period of time and that I got it from them, she then talked to her manager and said that I would not be charged at all for the diagnostic. My question is that if after the diagnostic they find a problem with the car, such as a faulty censor, should I end up having to pay for it or should I expect the warranty on the car to cover it. I don't want to end up paying money that I shouldn't have to. And has anyone experienced this either?

Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

Obviously that would be covered by the warranty

The censor has yet to affect me, nor have I had any sensor issues.
