So the one in front of mine, which is complete as of this morning and in D4 status, which had 318 Interior package (which included 401 Heated and Ventilated Front Seats) was build without vented seats

The 318 package was changed to 317

I thought there was hope for the vented seats, but it looks like they have gone the way of the Surround View (360 Camera)

Vented seats are gone because perforated seats are gone. Designo is vinyl.

Bah that sucks. I was holding out hope that it was a quirk in the ordering system, oh well. I guess I'll just have to tell my salesman I'm discounting the vented seats from the $2880 cost of the interior package then.

Any of you guys are planning to upgrade your C450 exhaust? I know it's early, but that is the only modification I would do when mine is delivered. I'm hoping Akrapovic or Eisenmann are working on a proper catback system

I don't think this is correct. According to Mercedes, Designo is Leather for the C450. The standard seats in the 450 are however a special MB-Tex per the following taken directly from Mercedes own Press Release:

The MB-Tex/DINAMICA upholstery and the instrument panel trimmed with black MB-Tex.

Further in the same release, the following options are listed:

Additional AMG optional extras (excerpt):

AMG Performance seats (lower seating position, more contoured seat
shape for enhanced lateral support with integral head restraints
and AMG badges)
 Designo leather seat upholstery
 Leather seat upholstery
 Carbon-fiber/aluminum trim

My mistake got the D's screwed up. It would be nice if the darned mb usa site showed the 2016 configurator but as usual, they are way behind.
However the same thing applies, if the leather is not perforated there will be no seat coolers.

I think you meant to reply to my post, but yes, I agree. It seems since the 2016's are starting to come into dealers, you'd think they they would update MBUSA with the new build options for 2016.

I can't imagine why Mercedes wouldn't offer perforated leather in the Designo option? I'm paying for leather, just because I really want ventilated seats in my C300. Without that, I may as well have saved some $$ and gone MB-Tex. Perhaps that's just me?

I have the perforated seats, but even then its only the fronts, the rear are solid and Im pretty sure they are MB TEX. Not that there is anything wrong with synthetic as long as they don't develop the bleeding problem that some had. I think a lot of European makers are simply getting out of leather because of those that object to using animal hides. Silly really since if you're going to eat the cow might as well have a use for its skin. Plus the leather industry is not the environmental pariah it used to be.

C450 Lease Info

Folks, just heard back from my dealer today on lease info for the C450. We were hoping it would lease similarly to a C300, E or S but unfortunately it's leasing like an AMG. Pulled this directly from his e-mail:

Money factor is .00240 which is the standard rate which may fluctuate to
.00210 in standard form.
Residuals are:

15,000 miles=56%
12,000 miles=58%
10,000 miles=59%
7500 miles=60%

These are all for 36 months which is their standard lease.
30 months would be 2 points higher across the board and 24 months would be 5
points higher.
He did say that there's a chance the residuals and MF could improve a bit towards the end of the year but not hopeful. These rates suck, guess I'm going to be buying this time!

Did you pay for leather in your C400? If you did, I find it hard to believe only the fronts are leather? In cars equiped with MB-Tex, I thought the front seats were perforated as well (though I could be wrong about that).

Hi AutoPal, I have ordered a 2016 C450 thru David Morris Fine Cars in Edmonton, - where did you get your good deal from? I haven't finalised prices etc yet so maybe I can work thru your salesman to get similar pricing. Please let me know. Thanks

I've ordered a C450 with the AMG Leather interior option and I'm wondering if anyone knows if it would have the vented seats as my dealer advised that the seats are the ones in MB pictures of the new MY2016 C450 that have the aluminum inserts in headrest area and appear to be perforated seating areas.

These seats?

These are the $6400 designo AMG Performance seats. If you get these without the designo leather, they are $2500 (which doesn't include the interior package price if you get something besides the MB-Tex).

These seats are heated but cannot be vented.

I'm getting mine through Weber Motors. Apparently, they didn't want me to advertise the details of my deal, but if you send me a personal message, I will hook you up with my salesman. What price were you quoted at David Morris? MSRP?

Forgive my ignorance, but what is meant by money factor? Here in Canada, the only numbers we know about, regarding lease, are interest rates and residuals.

I was checking my order today on netstar where all dealers can see status of their inventory and noticed my price went up.. They put the P2 package on all the cars on the 3rd decade build of this month. So expect a $1520 price increase. I as well looked over all the ordering options and can confirm that vented seats is no longer a option in the new 317 package.

Thanks for the alert, ua. My price will go up then too. Not being much of an audiophile I figured to save some by going with the standard speakers. My salesperson warned me that might be the case when I tried to make a change earlier and he said if he went back in to the system to change my color he'd have to add the surround sound. MB might end up pricing me out of the what had been a pretty good deal. Fingers crossed.

The residual is almost decent but the lease rate is garbage at 5%. For comparison sake, the new 340i is 61% and .0013 for 36/12. If the C450 makes it above 60% for a 36/10 and the MF goes somewhere south of .0016 then I think its pretty good deal for a lease... lets just hope that happens within a few months after the initial release cools down

Is it possible to get any better lease deals for the C450 from a bank or savings and loan? I have always just leased from the dealer.

It's Mercedes' inventory system that the dealers use to track vehicles. Being buddies with your dealer helps.
