Here are my actual #s on my C400, for comparison sake (Los Angeles Area):
2015 C400 Steel Gray
19" Blck Multi Wheels
Pano Sunroof
Ash wood trim
Sport pckg
Multimedia/Navi pckg
LED headlights
Hands free trunk
Blindspot detect
Rearview camera
- Negotiated to $45,909, was already over budget so glad to get the extra ponies over the C300...
I'm not sure what the point of comparison is as the C400 and C450 are radically different cars, with different option packages, starting price etc.
I'm sure that someone will wrangle a C450 below invoice at some point in the next few months but I don't expect those deep discounts to show up right away.
At 50,800 invoice price on C450 is probably around $46,500 before dealer holdbacks, etc.

Agreed, plus dealers are desperate to clear their stock of C400, before the C450 arrives, so discounts now on the C400 are easy to come by

The C450 has so many improvements over the C400 that it's hard to see why someone would pick one at this point, even if the difference in negotiated price was over $5,000 apart unless someone just wanted a slightly "faster" C300 which is essentially what the C400 is.
Then again the average person going into the dealership doesn't know a C400 from a C450 from a BMW 3 series for that matter.

Just laying out the facts, instead of speculating...

Indeed! That is why MBSA decided not to launch the C400 here & wait for the C450. They had a few C400 demo's/mules in the country but that's all. They will option the C450 so that you can have a more comfort orientated version or a noisier more sporting version.
Honestly, nothing I wanted but it wouldn't clear the system unless I added that package. It was one of those things where in order to get one package you have to add another. Kinda a rip-off but ill live with it.
Its illuminated door sills, heated seats, ambient lighting. Tried getting heated seats as a stand alone option but it kept saying I needed to add Code 317 which is comfort package.

Interesting... 318 gets added for the three leather options on page 13 of the 1.1 DOG:
267 Sport Cranberry Red Leather
251 Black Leather
268 Crystal Grey leather
318 Interior Package: Leather Upholstery $2,880
877 : Ambient Lighting
401 : Heated and Ventilated Front Seats
U25 : MB Illuminated Door Sill Panels
So 317 must get added to one or both of the interiors on page 12.
Based on your order it sounds like the 19" wheels are now available. I had to skip-over the 19" multi spoke black wheels (606) when I placed the order; as well as, exclude the rear side airbags (298). I will have to check-back with the sales rep. It will be a lot easier having the C450 built with the 19" wheels than swapping them out after the car is built.
I ordered the 241 interior. There was no additional charge on the order sheet. I am also curious if the:
877 ambient lighting
U25 Illuminated Door Sills
are not included with the 241 interior or there will be a charge for the interior
I manually added the heated seats (873) as an option.

Yes...please advise...are the 19"s available? I had to tell them to just hold my deposit until those were coming in, as I am not dealing with the 'trade' after they come in...
Btw....really excited at the $50,800 base, i was expecting $55k+ base lol
Thanks for the info. That is good news that some 19" wheels are now available. the 605's were my second choice. I heard if you order the night package that your options are limited to 661, 604, and 606.
I just emailed my sales rep to see if the 606s are now available. Once he responds I will provide additional info.

241- is just the interior. It will not have the ambient lighting or illuminated sills.

From what I have been told from my dealer in Santa Barbara, the 19's wheels are available.
Perhaps this will clarify some of the confusion. This is the output from the ordering system for a vehicle that I am considering. I have included my estimate of the invoice cost based on historic MB factors. Surround view is not available. The leather is included in 318 interior package.

RadarGuy,
Thanks for the extremely useful information. The $4,500 mark-up on invoice on the base C450 is spot-on to what everyone else has been saying. I am going to try and negotiate $3,000 off MSRP similar to tmoney. I think that is a fair deal.
You are correct with respect to the 318 interior package and it includes the ambient lighting, illuminated door sills, and heated front seats. It is expensive for what you get but I cannot imagine not having any of these items.
The (606) 19" multispoke wheels in black are now available; as well as, the (293) rear side airbags. No luck on the 996pkg surroundview package and I am guessing that this will not be available at launch but I can live with the (2350 parktronic and (218) rearview camera.
It looks like I am good to go with a September delivery. We'll see how my price negotiating skills are in September but I think that I will do fine being this is my 4th M-B.

The German website destroys the pathetic MBUSA configurator. My only debate was with the design white/black seats. I like the designo seats but with a white leather door handle may not be such a good idea. Plus the misses likes the black better too.
I also opted for Garmin Nav versus the multimedia package. I do not need to be surfing the web while I am driving. I just need a NAV and my Sirius XM radio and I am good to go. I passed on the panoroof since I have skin cancer issues and the regular LED headlights are fine and better than what I am used to now.

Roger that! It's going to look incredible!
...yeah, to bad about our configurator, the DE site does destroy it. I have gone through every configuration about ten times on the German site. Did you notice how the German's can configure surround view (son-of-a!). The only good news is that my configuration would be $94K if I brought it from them.
