transmission skip
My C450 is almost a year old now. It has had an annoying skip in the transmission shifting at low speeds from first to second in sport mode, and with service 'A' due, I told my local dealer about it. I've read on youtube about other C450's with the problem and expected some possible hassle about it, but just picked it up today. The service report states that they found 'multiple fcases with the exact complaint'. They replaced the torque converter clutch solenoid, reset converter cluthch life and adapted solenoid and verified repairs. Now works like a charm. So if you're experiencing any lag in the transmission, bring it in. There are apparently many cases of the original clutch solenoid being bad.

ride hieght
Has anyone noticed that the C43's ride height went up a bit. A quick search reveals that the C450 is 56.1 inches.. while C43 is 56.3 inches.. Why the difference?

How about this? http://www.tirerack.com/snow/preferredpackages.jsp
I need a snow rim/tire package in the next month and am having real concern finding one ;-)
Any tips?
I notice another member maybe has the below installed?

Anyone else have doubt that much of what tirerack actually lists will fit a C450?

I ended up going to a few local dealers, and actually have an appointment to do some test fitting this weekend. Their prices are competitive.
There are a couple of good threads on here on this topic - one even has photos showing the tight clearance of the front suspension on an 8" wide winter wheel during his test fit (stock C450 18" and 19" front wheels are only 7.5" wide)
Edit: here is the link to that thread https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...-thoughts.html

I had the same doubts. I've been through the suggested wheels on TireRack and on 1010Tires.com here in Canada, but questioned the results and whether they have the right vehicle details (front control arm clearance, larger brakes) and perhaps are lumping the C450 in with the C300/400. I didn't want to take a chance on mail order and the hassle of having to return the order if the wheels don't fit.

Nvestr and I got the same FC04.
I got mine from 1010tires.com. Unlike at the beginning of the C450 model year, they actually got it right. An agent corrected my web order to keep the fit guarantee and they fit. Web order suggested +40mm but it's +30mm instead for the front.
Front: 18x8 +30mm with 225/45/18
Rear: 18x9 +40mm with 245/40/18
I ran with Pirelli Winter Zottozero 3, been a week, no issues.

I used to be on here years ago. and had to re-sign.
I just picked up a C450 and have a question that no one seems to be able to answer.
What is that Charge-Air Pressure meter in the center dash display??? It doesnt move. no matter what mode I select.
Seems to be a boost gauge but nothing??
I just ordered a VR box. So I will post before and after times.
Thanks again

where there is a demand there will be a supplier. I doubt remote start would be a deal breaker considering most of MB's competitors are from Germany. What are you going to do buy a Lexus cause it has remote start?

Got it. Keep an eye on Midcity Engineering. They make a CAN based remote starter that pairs with the Drone Mobile module to allow starting by app. I had it in my 221. Much more reliable and way faster than the Mbrace starter. No pre-start security check, doesn't matter what the fuel level is, or if the windows are up and doors locked. They don't have a 205 unit yet but they will at some point.
They do currently have a module that defeats auto-start and restores the last Agility mode the car was in
