It seems that they are showing up, but it's not until the car is physically on the lot for the better part of the day.

I'm hoping for another update from my salesperson today. Who knows why it's taking so long.

When's your expected arrival then?

Nope, I don't think it shows up until it's physically on their lot.

I could be wrong, but it was my understanding it shows up in the dealers inventory once it's at the VPN ready to be shipped to the dealer.

C450, GLS 63 and a few other things
Just got back from my dealer. They stated they had 4 in stock. I physically saw 2 and test drove one of those. Very pleased with the power and handling, confirms my plans to order one now that I've driven it (or who knows, may buy off the lot).

Sat down to configure one and confirmed that the interior package requires the Premium 2 package. Selecting Black Leather required the interior package (and hence the Premium 2 package). Selecting Black Leather with Red Stitching did not require the interior package, and resulted in a 0 charge. Not sure if the order would go through or not, but it seems like that is an option to keep costs down. We explored because the sticker on one of the lot cars had black leather with red stitching, A D01 $1460 package (without heated seats, and without the Premium 2 package) So we were exploring how to get leather without the radio.

Autopal has been asking about exhaust sound. Pretty quiet in comfort, a little louder in Sport, and lots of exhaust sounds (still somewhat "muted") in Sport +. Definitely a good effort, but I own two high performance V8 cars, and this is nothing like that. Quieter and less mean, but sounds great compared to other similar size motors.

I'm not going to hold my breath (after this fiasco with the first round of builds), we both figured that we should see it in the next two weeks (hopefully that is a conservative estimate, but who really knows ).

Yeah, that was pretty much the rule, but this past three weeks kind of trashed that rule. Hopefully the last three weeks was the anomaly and not the new rule.

That is the one! You are good. Any thought of working for M-B? Maybe when you retire.

It sounds like things are moving along now so hopefully the early builds had the hiccup and you will be smooth sailing.

I definitely wants pics of your vehicle. I would have went with the designo seats but the white handles steered me away but I love the stitching.

Base Sound System

I think the base audio is adequate for me. On my favorites CD, the music may not be quite as rich sounding, but I can't hear $1600 of difference. The speaker grills still have an attractive "shower head" design, with the black color nicely matching the ash trim:

Exhaust Note

Compared to my C400, the exhaust note is much more assertive yet not aggressive. Cruising on the highway, the exhaust is not loud enough to be tiresome. But accelerating away from a light, even with moderate throttle, there's a nice rasp. On the overrun, there's smile-inducing popping. In Sport+, I think the trans is rev-matching on the downshifts accompanied by popping from the exhaust. Bear in mind, I'm respecting break-in constraints and haven't broken 4000 rpm. When broken-in, I think the exhaust will be very entertaining.
Net, I'm happy with what I'm hearing so far.

I'm hoping that in 'Individual' you can configure Sport+ exhaust with Comfort or Sport dampers and gearchanges. I'm sure I'll want to enjoy the burbles and pops most of the time but don't always need the other full-attack-mode chassis settings.

I'm curious about the ride. Is it much firmer than 300 in comfort mode? They did change suspension in front, and I wonder if it just affects handling or if it also makes the ride more firm.

That is a sweet build. Very similar to Viper's. He has the performance seats and the silver fiberglass inserts instead of the black ash wood.

Very Nice. Well done. I am sure the misses will like the vehicle

I'd love to see pics of that interior when he gets it. AMG seats with Designo, kinda like best of both worlds maybe. She's already in love with the rendering talking about I can drive the Audi.
