Wheel Spacers
I'm currently looking for wheel spacers for my C400, nothing crazy maybe 10 or 15 or 20
.
However i need more information or a lot of confirmation lol
this is what i have gathered so far,
ball seat radius
bolt pattern: 5x112
center bore: 66.5
thread type: 14x1.5
Is all this all correct ?
i have the 19" AMG wheels by the way with the black and stainless
any input will be greatly appreciated. (best brand, best prices, best bolts, do i need extended bolts ?, previous experience etc.. )

I've been looking for the same I want 3mm for the front and 10-12mm for the rear I found that www.taperpro.com has them but he doesn't carry the bolts. :-( If anyone knows any manufacture that sells the kits (spacers with bolts) together let me know. There is a lot of aftermarket for BMW, nothing for MB.

That looks correct if W205 has not changed from Benz standard. Just make sure you get decent hubcentric spacers or you will have vibration problems.

i have 10mm spacers on my coupe and had to buy hub centric (with extra neck ring) to allow the rim to set properly. I also bought slighly longer bolts from ebay.
On my coupe, I tried with 5mm.. and there was not enough neck left to properly seat the wheel. I would get vibration.
On the C400.. both front and rear hubs have a lot of neck available.. I added 5 mm (flat version no neck) on back and I still have another 5mm+ available. I used the same bolts, no need to buy new ones. I got plenty of turns and then used a good torque wrench. I inspected after a spirited drive and retorqued everything. No vibration.
I did the same with 3mm spacer for the fronts.. can't hardly tell the difference. I keep staring at side profile and I can't really see 3mm being really worth it. I will try 5mm as well but for now I'm leaving as is.
The overall looks is better.. but not enough to make a real big difference to non car enthusiasts.. I also have the 19" rims. To a trained eye, you will see the rear tire just barely flush to the wheel gap.
Btw: The 5mm changes a bit of the camber on the rear and you have a bit more neutral turn in compared to stock. For that reason alone, its worth it.
I do plan to swap tires to 255/40 (taller to get more compliant ride) and 235/40 fronts to get a bit more meat on the rims. Once I do the tire swap, I will revisit the spacers.
Any 5mm spacer made for previous E class or C should will work. I bought them through Ebay.

It is a myth that all non hubcentric spacers cause vibrations. Especially the narrow types.
You want the diameter of the wheel bolt and bolt holes on the spacer to match up. If they do, and if you cleaned all surfaces properly, there should be no problems with vibrations with a 3-5mm flat spacer.
Get from Eibach if possible. They make the best spacers in the business.

You need about 10mm spacers before proper Hub centric type is available.

Eilers, if your rim only has 10mm but the last 5mm the diameter of the hub opens up like the stock MB rim does (at least in my case) if you use a 5mm spacer there will be slack and you will not be able to center it. Now I know people will say sure you could use the star patern when tightening the bolts but trust me you don't want to try that and if you are off my a hair the you will get vibration. I'm going from experience I had on a 2010 328i I just pulled my rims on my MB last weekend and it seems like the same deal, that said I did buy 5mm spacers yesterday going on what I read from "topgun" If I experience the same I will let you know. I figured they were so cheap I would try it on the front and see what happens because 3mm may not cut it for me.
A quick look on the eibach site, shows that they don't seem to offer less then 15mm spacers. From you explanation probably for good reasons.

However as a general rule on cars as such, narrow flat spacers should not be cause for vibrations.

Take a search of the W203 forum at the number of non hubcentric flat spacers that have caused vibration problems. I would rather shove the wheel out a little further to get hubcentric. Even Porsche use them. Agree Eibach make some of the finest.

the 5mm generic spacers or name brand will not cause vibration as long as the rim has plenty of lip to sit and center properly.
on my coupe.. the lip is very narrow and adding 5mm just about takes all the lip available to mount the rim. Hope that clears that.
On the C400, the lip is plenty and bolts are no issue by adding just 5mm flat ring. Anything more will require a spacer/flat ring with a neck.
so far no issues on my car.. still debating if I should go 5mm fronts instead of leaving the 3mm.
The rear is fine for me.. not as aggressive as I want but better than stock.

I got some 5mm spacers for the w204 and it worked like a charm in the front of my w205. I was only able to get 4.5 turns so I'm not feeling that safe I'm looking for 35mm black wheel bolts to and now I will get the 12mm rear spacers. Thanks!

I'm delighted you got lucky. Many have not. Care to share brand of spacers actually used. That might be where the secret lies. We have had buckets of complaints on MBWorld. Even on the S Class forums.

These are the ones I got but all 3-5mm spacer are the same as long as the hub diameter and bolt pattern match 100%
