Thumbs down 19" Multi-spoke Wheels

19" AMG multi-spoke wheels look to much like (horse drawn) wagon wheels to me and give a harsh ride as well.

Have you driven 18 and 19 on the same car? I have and there was very little difference I could tell. The 19's were perhaps a touch noisier at speed, that was all.

Size does not matter in this case, aesthetics does. Multi-spoke wheels are out of the question.

I went for 5 spokes 18" because of practicality. If they did that 5 spokes in 19" i would of chosen them.

I wish Mercedes Benz allowed a choice of tire type as well wheel size. If this were the case I would have chosen A/S tires on my 19" wheels since I live in a snow belt.

I have given my W205 order with 5 spokes but i have been suffering about my decision now. I really confuse about 19 multispokes. Would it be uncomfortable without airmatic? Actually, Turkish roads are not so good and we have winter conditions for 4 months per year .

If your roads are really bad, I'd go with the 18"

The roads here aren't that great. I personally feel the 19" size fits the size of the car better, but, even with AirMatic, you can feel and hear the thuds on poor roads, manhole covers etc.

I suspect the 18" would be less likely to damage through poor roads and also provide a tiny bit more cushioning. To be fair, its only half an inch different between wheel and road so its not going to be hugely different.

I ordered my car with the black 19"s and bought a replica set of the 18"s for winter use...I actually prefer the look of the 18"s on the car.

Could you give some background on those replica 18" wheels...like how much, from where, and what winter tire/size will you be running on them?

Are the replica 18" wheels staggarded like the stock 18" wheels?

Go with the 19"s and don't look back. Tons of excuses but ultimately you buy these types of vehicles for style points...

You need to get your story straight my friend:

Why does the engine size dictate your wheel choice?

IMO Small sized engine can easily be affected by wheel size (I mean performance and acceleration)

What do you think about C200 D 1.6 136hp diesel renault engine if you compare with C180 1.6 156hp?

I think i will go with 18'' because i don't wanna use aftermarket wheels for winter. Oem's are expensive and aftermarket quality is very low in Turkiye

Skip the C200 Diesel, its a very dull motor, the M274 C180 is great and effecient, I have tuned mine to just under 200 bhp, works great!

Ah the advantages of having insider knowledge. If I tried that I'd end up being discovered and having my warranty revoked.
