Interesting little change.
Yes, the power symbol is there instead of just OFF for the display switch. I'll post a shot of the new Start/Stop button tomorrow.

Stan,

Pleased to see all is going well with your upgrade!
This question is for all. When I purchased my 2015
C400 last month, I asked for the VMI on the car which was
manufactured in November. Concerned about the Mb-tex seats
bleeding issues which is why I asked for VMI. Is it possible work
could be performed on car without being logged? Just saying...my real hope is
I got close to a well manufactured C from America even tho it was in November.

The MB-Tex repair was part of a TSB and required parts from MB-USA. As far as I know, dealers are not doing the repair on standing inventory, but rather as a response to a customer complaint. Ask the service manager if the seat covers were replaced. If it wasn't done, you have the option of requesting the repair at any time as part of the original TSB which is open ended. You won't see the problem unless the temperatures drop below freezing again.

The car was in demo service @ another dealer location & my dealer got it from
them as they are part of the same company. So you are saying the bleeding is
inevitable in our climate?

Not inevitable, but more likely than not. The plasticizer in the vinyl is defective in all production through 1/5/15. Sub-zero temperatures may trigger a chemical reaction which causes the release of that plasticizer through the material. Some have not been affected, but many have. It's common enough that MB-USA had to come up with a TSB and a repair package for dealers.

It is possible that the problem will resolve itself as the vinyl cures with time, but the cars haven't been out long enough to know that at this point.

Congratulations Stan.

Your W205 with sport package just looks stunning! Hope you will have many years of driving enjoyment in that car.

One thing I notice about the leather seats in US spec W205 is different to Australian spec (SA built). I think this is because you guys have the option of ventilated as well as heated seats. We only have heated option for Australian spec W205.

You didn't go with the 19inch AMG wheels? Is that not standard in the sport package?

The 18" AMG wheels are standard here with our Sport Package. I stayed away from the 19's due to our generally poor road conditions.

I had no great desire to have the ventilated seats but, now having them, I think they are a nice feature. Certainly not a "must have," but it does work well and does cool the seats.

With the interior package you get the ambient lighting right? Curious for your thoughts on that as well as (aside from ventilation) how you feel about the leather vs mbtx.

Ambient lighting is a nice idea, and you can choose a color and the lighting level. I think it's pleasant ... not critical at all.

I like the leather. It feels good, smells good, and has more pleats than the MB-Tex, which I like. I was okay with MB-Tex until it became possessed by demons. The exorcism was a success, but I did not want to go that route again.

I wonder if the left side eco stop button can be ordered along with a proper orientated blank to fill its old position?

800 miles since April 10th, and still not a single complaint. I'm not sure what to think.

At this point, with my first C300, I already had scheduled two recall trips to the dealer, had noticed the badly fit fuel filler door, remarked on how loose and flimsy the sunroof shade was, and was not at all pleased with the overly light steering feel.

The only quality issue I have been able to find is that slight rear bumper cover misalignment, and that does seem to be the norm on all US ... and some non-US ... builds. It can be easily corrected with a couple of shims, but I'm sure an assembly line solution would require a new rear bumper cover mold. Maybe 2016, but it doesn't look like a 2015 fix. In any case, it's a minor cosmetic issue.

I'm almost ... almost ... ready to conclude that Alabama is finally getting their act together. I will post a 1,000 mile report when I reach that point. So far, so good.

Good to hear Stan. I've just finally gotten all of the issues sorted out on my c400, and couldn't be happier...well more relieved than anything. It's definitely been an exercise in patience.

Yikes...what a mess.

I hope I never have to deal with any of those issues-- listed in the "saga".

I am pretty annoyed the auto start/stop... I always forget to switch it off.

I do feel like I'm pressing more "buttons" to get on the road. I know technology is supposed to make our lives easier-- but sometimes it feels more complicated!

Check out my C300 car review I posted today. I hope you enjoy...

Nice video review. Only mistake is a single reference to the C300's "turbo V6" near the end of the review. Overall, very well done.
