Squeaks/rattles?
Unfortunately my F30 has squeaks/rattles that the dealer has never been able to sort, and that is disappointing on a $50K car.
So, I'm wondering how common that problem is on the W205 before I get close to making a decision between leasing a 2016 F30 LCI or a W205.
Thanks.
There is another thread further down . there are quite a few reported rattles and squeaks
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...1-rattles.html
I've already owned two C300's in seven months, the first one having experienced many of the issues we're all too familiar with. Still, even with the very serious MB-Tex plasticizer issue, few of the problems I've seen could be called major.
I have had experience with six different C300 sedans ... two of my own and two loaners I had for at least a few days. I've also taken two others for extensive test drives. So, of the six different W205 cars I've driven, none exhibited any rattles or squeaks. In fact, none of them suffered from the excessive wind noise that seems to plague so many of the owners on this forum.
On the other hand, all had some degree of misalignment of the rear bumper, and a couple of the early builds had loose sunroof shades and bad fuel door alignment.
Regarding rattles, these cars do seem to transmit any noise from loose objects really well. A loose item in the trunk or on the floor can create a rattle or squeak that sounds amplified throughout the cabin. The trunk particularly can behave like a sound chamber in sending noise, from anything not tied down, into the car.
Overall though, I have found these cars to be essentially rattle free.
