I just got a recall notice in the mail concerning a defective fuel tank cover. Luckily, this one was for the C300 I just got rid of. My new C300 Sport is not affected.

Fuel systems are so hard to get right ...

It happens. We just got a safety recall notice for the fuel system on the GS300 Lexus that we traded in for our C300. Gasket failure on the high pressure fuel system could corrode, leak and cause a fire. Face it, we're not dealing with the 5 psi fuel systems of the 60's and 70's anymore. NASA has had leaks in their fuel systems and look at the money and technology that goes into their vehicles.

True, but in my case that would have been the third recall in seven months. That in addition to one emissions service campaign, and several dealer visits for other issues ... including the MB-Tex bleeding seat mess ... led me to an early end to that very frustrating ownership experience.

Not trying to best you but, you don't even want to go into all of the recalls and engine problems that Lexus had. They even had to re-ring the engine and replace the exhaust cam gears not to mention the steering. I guess everyone has lemons. Hopefully the grand scheme of things has a rosier pic.

Yes, my new C300 Sport has been excellent with only a couple of very minor cosmetic issues that I won't even bother with for now. No recalls, no glitches, no wind noise, no rattles, no nothing.

Makes me wonder what they'll do with your lemon car you traded in. Hopefully not resold.

It was sold again. The new owner will have to bring it back for that fuel tank cover recall already. Good luck to them.

Hopefully, they live a lot closer to the dealer than I did.
