A nail has gone into the tire and now have a slow leak. Can a run flat tire be repair? Should I take it back to the dealer?

Have you driven on that tire? If so, a replacement may be in your future. I've read that many tire shops (especially the dealerships) will not repair a RFT that has been driven on.

Good luck.

should be able to be repaired as long as it didn't puncture the walls of the tire

I went to three different places. Not one would patch a RFT. If you already have a leak, pretty sure there is no fixing it. Plus I wouldn't even attempt to have it fixed at that point.

I had an extremley slow puncture, i went to the place i always go for tyres as i really do have bad luck with them, and they said they would repair it, but if i went to mercedes or highstreet tyre shops they will not. It only cost me £10 to sort out so its definatley better than £130 for a new tyre (depending how bad and where the screw is)

Good luck

No problem to plug a runflat tire, you just need to pack some serious muscle

Tell them to put some effort into it

Vic - you're right. Too much like hard work for a £12 repair, given RFTs are such a PITA then tyres shops will want to make a few more quid, in return for the sweat.

I plugged my one rear runflat myself in February. No problems in 3K miles since then. touch wood

It did take a little more effort than a non RF tire.
