2015 C-Class Receives Low Marks in '15 J.D Power Initial Quality Study
The J.D Power Initial Quality Survey looks at owner-reported problems in the first 90 days of new-vehicle ownership.

IMO 2 out of 5 for overall quality for the 2015 C Class is low even for an MB fan as myself. Has anyone ever seen a car get 1 out of 5? A quick glance and I couldn't find a car lower rated than then C.
Some stock from November 2014 waiting for an owner based on dealer websites, not a stellar selling car yet either here. The CLA and S-class seem to move. Will be interesting to see how the W213 does.

I also believe that most owners would have argued that the first car you had, the one you called a mess, as '100% perfect and flawless'. Most just wouln't have experienced the issues you did. Doesn't mean they weren't there, and should have been addressed. I bet fewer than 1% of the cars with bleeding seats got a change out. And those few owners, as you, had to fight for it, and heard "oh that's normal, it's safe, it's nontoxic, it will go away just wipe it" more than once.
I'm beginning to think that I'm supposed to feel guilty that I have a C with virtually no problems to speak of- shall we call it "problem free car privilege" so that others can make us feel guilty for being "lucky"?

Here in the southern USA, my dealer has swapped ZERO, she said in the entire state, ZERO, but 100% of the MBTEX in USA before December was affected. MB-USA is only swapping if people complain, and only then after asking them to wipe seats down. Don't believe me? Call and ask.
The entire point is that people as you, if you can't even comprehend the point of the post, would be incapable to tell what their car might have wrong with it. But if you think it's flawless, as I said to Stan, many would say his first car was perfectly fine. Enjoy it. JD Powers should have heard from you and the scores may have been better.
I wouldn't ever call ignorance lucky. Not to say that by miracle there's cars out there built to spec and better than others, what's your point of the thread in relation to the scores of this car being so pathetic?

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
"Initial Quality
Taken from the Initial Quality Study (IQS), which looks at owner-reported problems in the first 90 days of new-vehicle ownership, this score is based on problems that have caused a complete breakdown or malfunction, or where controls or features may work as designed, but are difficult to use or understand."
Complete breakdowns are rare, so I'm guessing the "difficult to use or understand" part is where the car does poorly. This mirrors Consumer Reports' reliability ratings, where difficulty using the computer interfaces are now a major source of complaints.
Actual reliability ratings for 2015 are still not available but, based on the number of first year issues dealers have been handling ... including recalls and service campaigns ... I would expect those numbers to come in below average as well.
Interesting read on JD http://www.caranddriver.com/features...-study-feature

I think we all knew the first year W205 was not going to do well in the reliability surveys. There have been too many issues, including the well publicized MB-Tex fiasco. Too many cars still are coming out with wind noise issues, and there are still the odd electronic glitches but, overall, I think the level of reported malfunctions is less than it has been. I really hope that Mercedes gets this all sorted out quickly and can improve the reliability to average or better than average. The 2016 model year will be critical for the success of this car ... it has to be as close to trouble free as possible.
to put this into perspective you went to Mercedes, bought a new car. Once the new car arrived you did a visual inspection, test drove it, etc. Came to the conclusion that everything is good and accepted delivery. You later find visual misses in the build, wind noise, transmission issues, steering issues. And the ones that "allegedly" have no issues are blind?

Ohhhh....you must not have heard? They removed your position on the board after your complaints on this forum about their MB-TEX. (They went to MB-TEX for board room seating surfaces now, had to drop from leather after the poor JD Powers report)
