But isn't that meant to be the E class coupe ? or would they just come out with pillarless versions and call them differently ?

CLK was moved to E Coupe/Cab to bolster the E product line. Now Benz believes there is a gap between C Coupe & E Coupe/Cab that could be filled by an intermediate CLK. Maybe driven by BMW gap filling/nomenclature change. Let's see what happens with their new scale-able platforms.

After showing my wife these pics a few days ago, she got excited today because she thought we were pulling next to a new C Class Coupe on the road. I unfortunately informed her it was actually a Volkswagen CC.

but we haven't seen the rear lights in full yet . also coupe is wider and lower than Sedan so those lights might not necessarily look good on Sedan

yes a competitor for 4 series as that is supposedly moved more upmarket. that would make sense. I for one love the look of previous CLK. it still looks superb on the road. would love to see a new version of it keeping the same elegance

There's at least one of those driving around here in town. It's gorgeous, even in white. (Not a fan of white cars.) I noticed it right away -- one of those "Wow! What's that?!" moments.

I was so disappointed that the CLK was discontinued. I absolutely loved mine and wanted another... Maybe when the W204 goes away, I can look at the coupe.

Yeah! ~ I wanted an E Coupe until I saw it & hated the design. Asked my dealer to find me a CLK with the spec I wanted. Could not find new but got me one of the last produced with 9000 miles on it. It has now done 21K miles. Still attracts attention. I'm surprised how well it has aged. Still really enjoy the car & it's totally bug free. The joys of buying a mature model.

My neighbour has a palladium silver one in his drive. keeps washing it and polishing it every other weekend. mint condition. car design looks every bit as fresh today as the day it was released. understated elegance that is why is aging so well.

Yes, I would agree that the Coupe's rear styling is much more attractive than the new sedan. Looking forward to seeing the new coupe in the flesh.
