Pano Roof Question: Front Black Portion Painted Aluminum?
Next week I plan on breaking out the Meguiar's clay kit and detailing my 2015 C300 with a pano roof, but I don't know if I should clay bar the front black panel on top or not.
Does anyone know if this panel is painted metal...or plastic? Should I clay bar it or just wax it?

am not so sure but the i think its made of glass.. but am 100% sure you can use clay bar!!! i always do it on my car every other month, especially when i accidentally get tree sap! i like using clay bar then wax it with pinnacle then sealed it.. looks really nice especially on white cars or grey! just make sure you have the non professional claybar.

2015 C220 AMG Line Bluetech.
The very front section, the first 6 inches or so, in front of the sliding section is Aluminium/Fibre and is painted.
Anyway, there is no problem flaying it, I have done mine already - just make sure it is well lubed. I use Snow Foam and clay over that. You can use external detailer, but I prefer the added security of the foam.

So I guess I'll clay bar/wax this portion just like all the other painted metal surfaces.

It isn't glass (you can push down slightly on the leading edge). My bet is plastic of some sort. Not painted (no orange peel).
