Auto refused to shift
Anyway after I reached home and had some lunch and a think instead of ringing the dealer and booking it in to be looked at I decided to take out and see if the problem resolved its self and guess what it had it must have been a software brainfart or something I'll keep my eye on it and if it happens again then it's going to the dealers.
So my question to to any fellow forumite is has this happened to you, I look forward to any comments and advice cheers.
The dealer checked at MB said this update was to address this condition. Since update, no issues.
Long story short, I took the car in and they updated the software on the car telling me that was most likely the issue. The very next day, the issue was still happening so I took it back. My car has been at the dealership for just over 1 month.
The tech ended up replacing the torque converter, but during their testing, the problem still persisted and I was told it got worse. The tech had to open a case with MB and they are now going to replace the valve body. The tech told me that if the valve body does not fix the issue, they might have to replace the entire transmission all together.
I hope you have much better luck than I did. This was my very first Mercedes and to have these type of issues happen to a brand new car with under 2k miles is very concerning and alarming. Many people warned me about having issues like this before my purchase, but now I have experienced first hand.
Let us know things turn out on your end. Good luck!
Your right about a brand of the quality of Mercedes having these various issues with their vehicles especially the auto-transmissions (7G) as this is a tried and tested piece of kit.
