SLIME Kit with Runflats
I'm still not crazy about the idea of runflat tires, especially the logistics and potential cost of replacing them after a flat if I'm not right near my home. But the ride isn't so bad (IMHO) that I need to replace them with conventional tires right now.
Assuming I'm no-where near home (I take frequent road trips) when I get a flat, my thinking is that if I can add slime to the tire to plug a tread-based leak/nailhole without riding a substantial distance on the tire sidewalls, I could get the tire home where I can shop for a reasonably priced replacement (or maybe even get the tire fixed)... rather than be at the mercy of the first tire facility I find.
Is there a reason why this approach wouldn't make sense? I would think that runflats would be no worse than patched (meaning slimed) conventional tires if you don't run on the sidewall. Am I missing something obvious?

Can I repair a punctured Bridgestone Runflat tyre?
Can RunOnFlat tyres be repaired?
Can I repair punctured Pirelli?
